Hello, I am new to this forum and thought that I would introduce myself. My name is Erica and I am a 38 stay at home homeschooling mom to five. (Technically, I only homeschool the older 3 right now) Emily is 10 and will be going into the 5th grade....Caitlin is 8 and will be going into 3rd and Kieran will be going into 1st grade. I also have a 4 year old (Rhiannon) and my baby 20 month old Meghan. I have always homeschooled my kids though I will admit I struggle year to year with cirriculum choices. It seems to be never ending with me. Anyway, I look forward to meeting all of you! Erica
Welcome Erica! This is a great place to swap ideas and share curriculum trials. lol. So pull up a chair and make yourself at home.
Welcome!!! My kids are exactly the same ages/grades as yours....DD10, DD8 and DS6 (well, in 6 days he'll be 6). This is a great place. Join right in! Rhonda
Welcome Erica Hi and welcome. I am a 36 year old mother of 3. Oldest daughter is 13 (dd13), then next daughter is 7 (dd7) and youngest is son age 3 (ds3). Currently my girls are in public school. Our public school is actually a good one but unfortunately is closing after next year due to low attendance and severe cut backs in state funding. When this happens my oldest daughter will continue with public school (in a neighboring town) as she will be entering high school. I will begin hsling dd7 who will be entering 3rd grade and I plan on homeschooling ds3 from the beginning. Our goal is to take 1 year at a time and would love to homeschool through the elementary years for sure. I am hoping our hs experience is a positive one and that we continue on through jr & sr high. It sounds like you are ecclectic in style? Is this correct? I have chosen an ecclectic approach as well. Would love to hear pros and cons of the curriculum choices you've made or are thinking of making. This site is amazing. Welcome.
Hi and welcome. I am Beth. We live in NC and have seven children. Three still live at home. Two are homeschooled. Two just graduated in June and three are married. Our youngest turned 10 on June 15th and will be in 5th grade and she is an Emily too. Our 15 year old will be in 10th.
Welcome! Are all of your kiddos girls? Wow! I'm DaLynn, 28yo and mom to three boys ages 9, 5, and almost 4 (in a month). We're eclectic and classical, and curriculum study and sorting is a never-ending thing here, too! I'm sure you'll love it here; can't wait to get to know you! Welcome!
Welcome! Seems like I am always considering new curriculum as well. It's nice to keep the feelers out, but you do eventually have to decide.
