With 4 young kids we do what we can. The house work usually slides.... it's clean dont get me wrong but I'd prefer it to be much tidier than it is. I am resigning myself to sweep and mop 3 times a week instead of daily.... vacuuming 2 times a week unless it's really needed.... bathrooms get done once a week. etc etc. I'd love to be able to clean the house top to bottom twice a week, and get back into sweeping and mopping daily. It just isnt possible right now.
The yard work slides, we moved into this new house a yr ago and the yard still isnt landscaped.
Our schedule for the most part is Breakfast, school, break chores.... lunch is done at around 1 wether school is finished or not. We work on our school work until it gets done (I want to try a 3 hr schedule.) and then I try picking up the house in between playing the referee to the kids bickering and fighting lol.
Somedays it can be tough, but then there's the freedoms we enjoy because we homeschool. That makes all the chaos worth it.

Gosh, your kids are still little! With Scotty, we can fit school in any time. Even with a planned lesson guide like Calvert, it only takes us about 1-1.5 hours for Kindergarten. My older son takes around 3.5-4 hours.

We do school before anything else unless there is a dr. appointment or other obligation. But I do try and schedule most things for the afternoon so we can finish school before leaving the house. :)

Wow! I only dream about cleaning my bathrooms once a week or doing the floors more then once a week! I've slacked so much on housework since having kids!

It sounds like it works best to schedule appts/errands in the afternoon for most families! I'll have to play around with it. We are used to doing things like that in the morning- when Mommy is more motivated and has more energy! :D

It has been said more than once that homeschoolers either have a clean house and school is "suffering", or school's going great but the house isn't. It seems to be one or the other with us!

Teachermom- I can play around with that also! I think I'm just going to have to try several different approaches and see what works best for us! :D

Oh how I love flexibility. My house slides some weeks or months and others it is in good shape. I will not say great shape at this point in time. I am thankful for a patient and understanding husband.;)

I was told by a friend that my home was clean for a homeschoolers house too! To her that meant that at least the garbage had been taken out, but every table type surface was still covered in an art, science, or writing project. That is good enough for me!

I'm very good at keeping things tidy- I can't stand to have some stuff just laying around and everything needs a home. I'm horrible about cleaning- I won't even tell you how often the big things get cleaned- I'm so embarrassed by it! LOL!

We find it hard to plan ahead for errands etc.
Our errands are just to spontaneous to plan around.

I don't drive here, and hubbies hours and locations are all over the place, so if he calls and says" I have to head past the library today..do you need to go?"..then we stop what we are doing and go.
Yesterday, he rang and said a villa was free to look at (as we are moving), and did we want to have a look..so we just stop what we are doing and go.

This is the reason, I really only plan weekly.
What we didn't finish yesterday, now gets spread into next weeks plan.

    Hi there,
A villa can be many sizes..there are some tiny ones around, and there are mansions (literally !)

The one we looked at we will be moving into, around the end of Aug, as this whole village we live in is being demolished.
We will be moving to Sharjah (the emirate above Dubai).

The villa was horrible (ripe for demolition is probably a good way to describe it!!!)
The LL is currently re tiling the whole villa, and repainting, and we have asked for all of the bathrooms to be redone too. Im afraid, it was the best of a shocking bunch, that a) was in our budget and b) it had to have seperate quarters out the back for all of our employees

I will try and post some pics in the next few days on my blog, of villa we are currently in and the "before pics" of the new new villa.

Edited to say...just as I posted this DH just announced not taking other villa now, as LL now wants more money (since yesterday), and wont agree to the maitenence contract.
Back to drawing board..and quickly !!
