Ok I finally got the thing downloaded. I have a question for all those using it.

Do you use the lesson plans? The way I plan things out is I have my in class work that I need to go over with sd and then her hw assignments. I have done a bunch of her homework assignments just under the student assignments but should I be doing it in lesson plans?

Is it easier for me to create an activity called in class and just set that up under the student assignments or do it in the lesson plan section?

Also I have two previous years quarterly grades I would like to have in there for the transcript. Can I just create back years and just add the quarter grade as a test, would that work?

    Thanks for the help!

I just got home from vacation and am really too tired to focus (lol) but I have used the lesson plan once since downloading it (we haven't really started yet). I did it so that I could more easily assign something to all the kids at the same time....it seemed easier that way than the assignments route. Hopefully a long time user will chime in.

Ok so if I set it up in the lesson planner I do not have to specify the date but can do that when I switch it to an actual assignment. Hmph? I think I am going to try that with Latin which I already have a plan written for. I guess I really need to play with this some more. By the time I use it for dd I should be a pro.

I did not read all the post so...bear with me.
    Homeschool Tracker Plus...
When I have something that I know is an easy increment increase or if I plan to possibly use it with my little one...I'll lesson plan it. You can then assign as much or little of the plan as you want.

    So...example...We use R&S English
I sit down and type in English, inclass, lesson#, page ___ - copy while getting the softeare to increment the lesson number then I go back into each one to edit the page number & topic.

Then...when my next one gets to that I've already done the work. There is a place where you can swamp lesson plans but, I haven't yet.

For our history & such I just have a lesson plan from number 1-whatever chapter and then I just assign that chapter/topic for the week and enter in whatever activities we do for that week (not in the lesson plan).

    Works like a charm.

With younger kids it is more of a day to day entry but....the older they get the easier and more I love it.

I just got a macbook so....I'll have to run it in a separate area (bootcamp) but...I just decided to make the Mac leap. I knew I wanted nothing to do with Vista. lol

    Bottom line...really like HS Tracker!
