we went to see the Kit Kitrich movie. Its great, we have not read the books yet but I will be looking forward to reading them to the kids. Both the girls and boys liked it. I just need to figure out where I've seen the charictors in other shows, I figured out that 2 of them were from the show Monk, and my son said he recognized one of the ladies from Harry potter
We wanted to see this in the in the worst way. Kit was my DD's first American Girl doll and she read all the books a while back. I hope we get to see it before it goes to DVD. We haven't really been near any major movie theaters.
We loved the Kit movie. It was actually much better than I anticipated. We read all of the Kit movies this winter. I don't know why, but I expected the movie to come straight from the books. I was pleasantly surprised that it used the books as a base but had many interesting plot twists. Well worth seeing! timkelmom - love the swedish fish you have there! They were the favorite 'study food' for my girlfriends and I when we were growing up. My DH brought me a bag of them when he got home today.
This is stoopid I know, but I sooo wish my little girl was into american girl stuff! Right now, at five, she is still all about Disney Princess and My Little Pony.... sigh... I kow it will come soon enough, but....
We haven't seen the movie yet (house full of boys!) but, the little gal that plays Kit was in Nim's Island. The blond boy, Max Thierot, was in The Pacifier, Nancy Drew and Catch That Kid. And I can't wait to see Joan Cusack's performance- she is good in whatever she's in! HTH- MT3
My girls haven't gotten into american girl yet. I tried reading some of the books to them this last winter and spring and they just didn't get into it yet. Maybe this coming year.
Will Smith's DD is in it. We saw it when it came out and really liked it. It came out right after my DD took her year end test and it was her reward. I was surprised that there were only 7 people in the theater and that included the parents.
My daughter isn't really into them yet - we are working on it as her friend is REALLY into them. I'm hoping her taking a sewing class to learn to make clothing for them will help Otherwise - she gets the movies from Netflix I think Molly is still in her DVD player (good thing there are no late fees!!)
Emily wants to see the movie too. She is hoping it comes to our small town theater this weekend. Actually if it did it would be posted today. I will have to check and see. She really wants to see it. So do I.
American Girl is great, however, REALLY expensive. We are fortunate to one of only 2 American Girl Boutique and Bistros at a mall 10 mins. from our home in GA. My Dad actually started this whole thing because he thought Kit looked just like my DD when she was younger. Now she has 5 AG dolls, too many outfits to count plus matching ones for her. I think she is outgrowing them now though. She enjoys having them, but rarely plays with them anymore. Besides, what's wrong with Disney Princesses hmmm....:lol:.
The magician was Stanley Tucci - his career is LONG. Abigail Breslin (Kit) has been in Little Miss Sunshine, Raising Helen, and a host of others. The one boy - the hobo teenage - played the eldest son in The Pacifier (also a great family movie!). I'm nt sure if he's done anything else. The little boy/girl hobo was Will Smiths Daughter, can't remember her name, either. The mobile librarian was Joan Cusack...John Cusack's sister and has a looooong career. The Mom was Juliette Binoche - again, long career. Dad was Chris O'donnell - tons of movies...was Robin in the Batman series I think is one of his most notable roles. Hmmmmm....not sure about all of the others....but you could go to www.imdb.com and look up the Kit movie and it would link you to all the places the other actors had acted in.
