My husband and I have worked up a budget for me mainly. Since I'm the one who gets hooked so easily on stuff - LOL. Pretty much we set up a visa debit card with a certain amount on it per month (well every 2 weeks) and that is it for groceries and all my homeschooling "I NEED THAT" moments So I found "The Grocery Game" site yesterday while I was looking for coupons and signed up for the $1 trial. But I'm not sure about it... don't know if it will work for me or not. 2 local stores are listed but I'm not sure if it will help me or not with my shopping. So does anyone use it and is it worth the $?
Not to discourage you or anything....I have not tried it, But I belong to another forum where they started a thread on it. I read it out of curiosity (as I am a couponholic!!lol!) and the posters that had tried it, really did not care for it. In the area I live, I dont have any of the stores that participate....
I don't use that but I read http://thecentsiblesawyer.blogspot.com/ and http://moneysavingmom.typepad.com/ on a regular basis. Using their methods have cut about 25% off our weekly budget so far.
I checked into it also and no I would not pay for someone to tell me about deals or coupons. Get coupons here: www.mysavings.com or sign up for my points at www.mypoints.com they have some of the same coupons there but when you use them you get 10 my points, as you wrack up points you earn free gift cards....... and if anyone wants to help me out I'll send you an e-mail invite to join, that would give me 250 points.
If you visit their message boards, there are a lot of people that do use them, I just don't buy a lot of the stuff that there are coupons for. It's a lot of quick stuff that is not really all that healthy. Also, I would not pay someone to tell me what to buy. I do clip some coupons, watch for sales and try to do it myself. I shop Aldi's some, Sam's Club, Walmart & Meijer, so I kind of know what already works. Good Luck. Kristine BTW, I recommend Mypoints.com too, I'm a member and if ABall, gets over the amount of referrals she can have, I'd gladly take some too. Also, mysurvey.com is another good way to earn a little extra cash. Don't get rich by any means, but still, it's pretty much free money.
I've done it in the past. If you have the time to keep up with all the coupons and do it "religiously" then it is a good thing. If, like me, life has made it too hard to devote yourself to coupons, then it probably isn't worth the money. But do the trial run and see how it goes!
I had cancelled it right away - but was curious I usually make my shopping list and then search for coupons. I don't make my shopping list to fit coupons - but maybe I should do more of that - LOL.
Good for you! That is wonderful! I have my own account too where I budget household, grocery, stuff anything I save with coupons I use for me and the kids for fun stuff or school stuff so it makes me motivated to do my best. It does more of the research for you I heard "grocery game" but with a little more time on your side you can do the same.
