Well it is a tight tropical storm, right now. But expected to strengthen overnight to a possible Cat 1 Huricane. That means sustained winds of at least 74 miles per hour.

If it does we will dismantle the trampoline, and take the tarp of the play center. We will remove all lawn attire and push everything in the garage off the floor.

I just got done sanitizing my house (Was actually doing it anyway, when the storm surprised us.) But it is good to try to sanitize your home when you might be without power. I use bleach water and then come back after with clear water, then again with rubbing alcohol for that fresh Hospital Smell! hahaha!

We will be making sure all clothes are washed, again, in case we loose power for any time....

Now that my house is clean we will be taking insurance photos and being sure to have all he serial numbers for our high ticket items, like tv's and stuff.

Mostly, I just want some rain!
It hasn't rained in four months out here. I got cracks in my yard that are swallowing the dog!

    Bummer!

I am from Florida, so I feel your pain! My little son endured at least 2 major hurricanes that I can remember in the first 6 months of his life! Hurricane Francis and Jeanne back in 2004. We lost power for like 3 days...and the windows were boarded so it was pitch black in our apartment we were living in at the time. Thankfully, my mother had a generator so we stayed at her house. Man, I don't miss those days!

I hope we get some rain as well. These high temps and dry weather is so boring!!! I hope all goes well for you Jen, and that nothing really serious happens but some rain. If you would like a place to clean should you leave yours...mine is open!!!

I have some relatives that live on the coast, and they didn't even know about it until I asked if they were going to leave or stay.

I saw this yesterday on the news. Right before the skies opened up and it poured here for about an hour.

I need to clean the floors in the house today and run by WalMart and also fill up on gas but other than that I think we are good. We have food and our laundry is done. I have nothing in the back yard to go flying around. We took our swing down last summer and all we have now are plants. I hope we get the rain but not the wind.

So when are we supposed to feel the effects?

I just need to bring plants and patio chairs into the garage I guess. I ran my errands and filled the car up with gas. I'm set!

We moved away from the Houston area 3 years ago, so I know what you're going through. Praying that everyone stays safe!

I wonder if its going to hit San Antonio? I havent watched the weather in a few days. Figures it would come on a payday like the last one we had when we are almost out of food.

It looks like you have a 30% chance of rain Tuesday and Tuesday night, and a 20% chance on Wednesday. This was under "Hazardous Weather Outlook" for San Antonio:

Aw.. y'all are so sweet --- but I think we'll be fine. Johnny came home early & got a lot done here (but has to go back around midnight & stay at work --- works for a chemical company close to 288)
We've tied down/put up all the loose stuff & trimmed the trees close to the house & power lines. We're crating all the dogs & bringing them indoors (yes... all six of them -- fun times)

And we're keeping an eye on it... last report had it turning a little more north at about the Ft. Bend/Harris County line.... so we should be fine. If it makes a south turn or gets too strong, me & the kids will just head to a hotel.

I really need to stay close out here, though... my parents live next door: my dad's too blind to drive much & my mom's a paraplegic on an oxygen machine.

I'll keep you guys posted --- once the rain comes in & knocks out my satellite signal... I'll have nothing else to do but play online LOL --- if I keep power.

Kris I do have your number. I need to get it off here and put it in my phone incase we loose power which I am almost positive we will. We always loose power. JenE I got your number too.

The girls and I took in the plants, chairs and bird feeders. The only thing left out there is the BBQ pits. I am looking forward to the rain I just hope the wind doesn't do a lot of damage.

Kris~you are so good girl!! The wind has picked up, about 15-30mph. The "old folks" (lol) are concerned because we are on the "bad" side for tornados. All I know is I had better get some sleep tonite 'cause last nite all I got was 3 hrs, b/c dd woke up at 1:30 AM screaming with an earache!!! We made a quick trip to the er and a scrip for antibotics and a dose of Tylenol w/codine took care of it! Yall take care too!!

Sending prayer that ol' Edouard weakens and all y'all get is just a good rainfall!

(We lived on the Gulf Coast for four years, and in Orlando another two...I feel your pain!)
