Well as most of you know, we have jumped around a lot in math since we started hsling feb. 2007. Starting with Addison-Wesley, then we did a year of workbooks and manipulative's, then last year we used Rightstart math, well this year we changed to Saxon. I really have tried to stay away from Saxon and just don't know why.

Well guess what he is doing AWESOME with Saxon!!! I guess all of the manips. and such was just not right for him. Even though I really thought that was the best way for him to learn math, but I was so wrong.

I am so excited for him! He is doing great and he loves it!

Just thought I would share, that we finally found the right math for us!!!

I am glad you found a good fit. I know I love Saxon for older kids. We use it at high school level and i would not use anything else right now.

I'm so glad you found something that works for yall! We too just switched to Saxon this year! We used different things too. We did workbooks the first year (k) and then last year we started out Math u see which just didn't work for us (don't throw tomatoes, I'm sure it works fine for others). but it left us cramming in work to be able to pass his test.
Anyhow....so glad it's working for you!

Agree, Saxon is great. If you work consistently, I don't see how the kids would not learn. We're finishing up Algebra 2, ready for Advanced Math.
