Notebooking.com, check this out it has booklets you can order, not too pricey and some stuff is free so she could really study what she wants and do research between online and library on it?
Yes! We're using Apologia Astronomy for my ds10 and making a lapbook for each chapter. So far, that is working out great because it makes the notebook part much more interesting and fun (all the lapbooks will be kept in a 3 ring binder, which will be his notebook! ) Why in the world didn't I try to be more creative in the past, rather than trying to follow a curriculum word for word?
I've used Apologia for the past 3 years. We began with Zoology (The marine animals) and then did Astronomy and we are now using 7th grade General Science. My son loves Science! The books are easily understood and the experiments are very fun and educational. I even enjoy doing Science with him each day. I would recommend Apologia Science to everyone, no matter if you love or hate Science.
I've checked out Apologia and Real Science 4 Kids Level 1. Although I really liked the look of RS4K it added up to about 65$. Apologia is only about 28$. Since I like both of them I think I will try Apologia (Sea Creatures per my dd request). I know that doesn't seem like a good reason to choose a program but my budget is very tight right now. I'm still wondering if I only need to order the one book? No IG?
hey Pilar actually it is the reason I choose half my curric. I look for the best price of the type of thing I want, and what it will cover and what I have to work with. SO that ws the wisest choice!
Who knew I was so wise?!?! I also found a pretty good price for it on pennywiselearning.com at $24.50 They also have lesson plans for $7.50---anybody have any experience with these? Are they worth it?
oh my goodness, thank you all!!!! I ran out to Mardel's and looked through Apologia Zoology 2--my dd will love this!!!
Okay ladies, I have heard of apologia before but not in much detail. Now you all have my interest up. What exactly is apologia science? How are they set up? What are the high points of it? etc. Thanks!
Well, being that I just purchased my first book, I don't think I'm a wealth of information. Hopefully some of the experienced hs ladies will chime in but I would recommend you go to the apologia website and look through the program. Sorry I'm not much help but I'm super excited about it. I also joined the apologia yahoo groups.
my dd did the Apoligia biology, she liked it, it was a wealth of information for her 10th grade science, it has videos and such , lab work and everything.
John Farndon My daughter is just discovering science and we loved one of John Farndon's experiment books. All his stuff looks great though.
