Hello everyone, just wanted to rant for a minute....my kids are driving me nuts! I love them more than anything! They are just killing me today. My son (and daughter to a lesser degree) is bad for splashing in the bath. Found out he had filled up this basket thing and so I emptied it (I couldn't tell apparently for a few days or maybe weeks I have no clue) and found black mold under it.....grrr....so in my frenzied clean up effort today I find that my trash can is full of water which I know had ot have happened recently! My goodness he's dag on 7 years old! It is just so aggravating! Oh, forgot to mention that the stupid bathroom is carpeted, that's where the mold is! I'll probably have to rip the entire carpet out of the bathroom! What in the world is wrong with him, I tell him each night, do not splash, you'll ruin the carpet, over and over again! Do I have to resort to WATCHING him take a bath like when he was little?????? Anyway, thanks for letting me rant a bit...now back to cleaning!
Time to introduce that 7 year old to the pleasure of taking showers! Seriously, my 7 year old recently started taking them and, ahhh, it was a sigh of relief to not have any bath takers anymore.
I'd say ripping out the carpet is a great idea...carpet is not good for a bathroom. I'd also say showers are a good idea. At 7, he really does not understand the value in not splashing. So, he continues to play..maybe he even cut his splashing down or doesn't splash as high...lol...who knows...he just doesn't see what the fuss is about. Sure he understands it is messy and can cause mold but like he gives a hoot, ya know? My 10 year old doesn't see the value in washing dishes right after a meal or even why they can't be left until the next day. lol. Kids are funny. I love my kids but they often get on my nerves as well. I'm sure the feeling is mutual. lol.
I know, I HATE bathroom carpet. I think it just spells bad idea all the way around. It's an older place from the 70's so it was thrown in there but replaced a few times since. But still...if we were going to be staying here I would have yanked it out and put down linoleum or tile a long time ago but never bothered. But now we're on a mission to move asap. We were looking before but now it's priority number 1!
