It has taken me three paydays to finish my pantry project I am soooo happy. I had bought during our paydays some containers from Dollar General it wont keep the ants out but it will deter them and keep the mice away.

I was shocked to find some mice in my home. I havent seen any for ages so I am hoping they are gone nothing for them to eat now.

I spent $50 less this payday grocery shopping day because I finally know what I have and didnt buy double! If your looking for my cans they are in another pantry along with my homemade stuff.

I tried putting the image on here but it came out too big so doing a direct link

I would love to see everyone elses pantry if you got a camera. I love getting new ideas

Thanks I need to take a better picture so you can see the labels.

The bigger containers holds rice, pasta, noodles, beans.

The smaller ones, pudding, jellos, oatmeal packages left over, hot chocolate, regular teas, different flavor teas (yes I am a tea drinker) dry sause mixes.

In middle is the condiments, ketchup, peanut butter, syrup, pickles. Top shelf is cereals, oatmeal, very top is my lamp oils and platic stuff for partys which we always host here for my family.

I love my pantry! It's pretty organized, but not very well stocked. That's something I want to work on.

We eat very few canned veggies. I prefer fresh or frozen over canned. For those of you who have stocked pantries, do you add things you don't typically eat?

I always keep extra pasta, rice, and soups on hand, but that's about it.

I do have dry milk which I hardly use, freebie stuff I got via coupon or when HEB has buy one thing and get all these other things free especially when I am going to buy it already its a great deal I stick in in the cupboard for later.

My sister will tell me the great deals she got of an item and I look at it and say, but you dont use this item. She says, "well yah but it was a great deal with the coupon" She ends up giving it to her daughter or it just sits there. Unless its free I think its a waste to buy something you dont use.

Unless your thinking of emergency stuff?

    hehe Kris

It took me three paydays to do that and my free time after the kids and hubby were in bed. I figured it cost me around $40 for all those containers from Dollar General I like the twist on one for cereal keeps the ants out better.

I saved $50 on grocery this last payday so I figured I am even :p

Okay, you encouraged me to organize my pantry! ;) I used what I had on hand.
    100_0001.jpg

As you can see, I attached a "shoe and purse holder" to the inside of the door. I had this up in the top of my closet for months & "badda-bing!" - I thought of it! I still have a few more things (tubs) that I want to get, but it's getting there! I hung my grocery sack holder on the hook on the door.

    100_0003.jpg

Snacks are on the top shelf. Second from the top are cereals, pretzels and crackers. Canned fruit, veggies, beans, etc. are on the third shelf.

    100_0004.jpg

The bottom shelf has soups, chicken broth, kids snacks, and Poptarts. On the floor I have a 2-shelf bin; in the top are juice boxes and bottled water, in the bottom are potatoes and onions. In a tub (which I had elsewhere in the house) I put dried beans. In the basket is rice, pasta and noodles. In front, on the floor, is microwave popcorn and things I buy 'extra' so we don't run out (ketchup, mayo, mustard, syrup, etc.).

    Great job ladies!
I am going to re-do mine this November. We cleaned out the pantry 2weeks ago when I found "Flour and grain weevils" in my flour and rice!
I even found them in a new bag of flour!

My sister said that I can keep my flour in the freezer. I had never heard of this?

Not sure about the freezer, but my mom always kept hers in the fridge. I do some, but am not diligent about it. Maybe I should be.

I have a small freezer so I was thinking of placing my staples in containers on the refrigerator door. Is that okay?

I keep my flour in the fridge along with pancake mix and bisquick mix.. Sometimes we put the cereal in there too. Depends on how humid it is.. I HATE soggy cereal.

I think that would be fine. I don't have extra freezer space, either, so stocking up here has to be with non-perishables.
