In the spirit of the season, post one thing a day that you are proud of or thankful for, here...

    I will start...

I am thankful when my kids whine about doing school work, because it means they are not afraid of expressing true feelings and they are HOME.

I am proud today that the five year old traded a load of clothes all by herself! (Empty dryer, move clothes from washer to dryer, load washer, mom turns on).

    cool! I like this idea!
I am thankful when my kids complain about doing school because I am here to hear it! They could be out complaining about the other teachers... but they are complaining where I can help them understand and give them a break on some days and teach them discipline on other days!

I am thankful that I am able to home teach my kids, and share the love and fun of it all with them!

( I am thankful that Jennifer started this thread hehe)

I am thankful that as of tomorrow my younger 2 kiddos 5 and 6 yo are going to be schooling in the safety of my home instead of going to ps where they are allowed to roam around the parking lot.

I am also thankful that my oldest got good grades in math this week at middle school when he has been struggling for awhile.

I am thankful that my kids are capable (and willing!) to work independently when I'm not around.

I am thankful that at the end of the day, even a not so good one, my kids and I still love and respect each other.

I am proud to be a mom of such loving siblings when no one else is looking. Especially because one is 6 and the other 12.

I am thankful that we can teach what we want and when.

I am thankful that my dd wants to do school work and complains/whines when it's not a school day (she's the counter balance to my ds).

I am thankful to have made it through another day with all of the frustrations and delights of homeschooling. :)

I am thankful for this board as a way to get support and advice from others "like me" since I live in a place without a lot like me.

I am thankful that I am the one here answering my sons questions.
Today it was...if they (JW missionaries) have their own version of the bible. Then that means WE have our own 'version' of the bible...so how do we know which one is right?
I mean, this is important. I can't always answer his questions the right or even the best way. But at least I am the one answering.

Not to mention that he can ask me, and does.

    I'm thankful and proud of:

My 7 year old who's never rollerskated tried today. He did AWESOME and he never gave up. He fell and fell and fell. Each time he got back up and took more steps. Went around the block twice before lunch and twice again after lunch. He's got a stick to it attitude, for sure. He's going to be SORE in the morning.

My 9 year old had a private lesson with one of hte coaches at her gym and FINALLY got her vault sequence down. She's flying on confidence this evening. (well, she's sleeping on it right now).

My 3 year old didn't maim anyone today. That's a good day (LOL...just kidding)

I am thankful that my kids choose being with their family over friends.
I am thankful that I can teach my kids the basics of reading, math, history and especially about God.
I'm thankful for a hand-working, Godly husband who makes it financially possible for us to homeschool.

I am thankful that I have such a wonderful dd. I was sick lastnight and she skipped youth group to lead my awana group.

I am thankful for such a wonderful, great, loving, Godly husband.

I am thankful that my ds passed his history exam and he was thrilled with a 75%. At home he doesn't have to feel dumb just because he can't remember everything.

I am thankful for my hubby. He really is an awsome daddy and hubby.
I am thankful that I am able to stay home to be with my kids, even on the bad days.
I am thankful for my three kiddos. They really are some good kids.
I am thankful for my parents. Yes we will fight/argue but that is who we are and have been. W/O them I wouldn't have gotten this far in life and they do anything in the world to help us out if needed.
And I also thank God for the life I have been giving. I never thought I'd ever be a stay at home mom and teaching my kids or even be married to a military man. It really is a good life for me.

I am thankful that my dd loves to read! She reads more than anyone I know, even myself at her age!

    Nice thread!

I'm thankful for the joy and creativity I see my kids express now that they're taught at home. I had no idea how oppressed they were in school until I had them home a while.

I'm thankful for a supportive husband, who's happy that we homeschool, and works hard to allow me to stay home.

I'm thankful for Teaching Textbooks, because it's freed me from the pressure of teaching older-level math and my son is doing awesome with it!

    I'm thankful for. . .
. . .my 12 year old who often gets mistaken for an adult in public because she is respectful and helpful with her younger siblings. She's learned some positive life skills from me during the elementary years instead of the many negatives her peers have taught each other while at school together.
. . .my 8 year old who has an unusual, artistic outlook on life, and the fact that I can preserve that by teaching her at home.
. . .my 3 year old whose curiosity, creativity, and energy will one day be of great use in God's kingdom.
. . .my infant, whose birth and babyhood has already taught me great things about myself and has taught my older girls a lot about motherhood.
