When we were in Kindgergarten, we had "Lazy Days" all the time! Reading books and doing puzzles are VERY educational!

My kindergartner reads, writes and can do 1st grade math, 1st grade phonics, etc..

Mostly because of NON worksheet work..

I agree, days like this for K and prek are perfectly fine! :D We frequently had days like this. Sometimes we'd include education t.v. such as magic school bus, etc also. Have fun!

    I agree with the above!
At their young age, they learn by hands on play.
    Have fun at the aquarium!

You should commemorate the trip somehow and et them into it...

Have them draw pictures of their adventures when you get home, or the day after...
Get them to hep you arrange photos on pages (Scapbooking) about it the day after...
Being able to retell stories of something that hapened in the past is a great communication skill for that level. So have them reenact something they saw on the trip!

    Just some ideas

    True....Good ideas...thanks
GA aquarium has lots on online resources available for kids. We are going to print some of the info off so we can actually learn/talk about the fish etc instead of just "seeing" them. I am sad that the penguins are ot available due to construction. The Titanic experience is at the aquarium now also so we have tickets to see that. Not sure if DD will totally understand Titanic, but I still want to see it for myself!!!! LOL
I will make tons of pics so maybe I can get them printed this weekend and we can make an aquarium scrapbook or something on Monday!
    thanks again for the ideas!!!:D

Last year when I was doing K we had lots of those kind of days, and we still have some this year in 1st grade, I think it is good for all of us.

have a great time at the aquarium. My hubby is very into aquariums and we have heard that the new one in Georgia is one of the best, someday we will have to head to the other side of the country to check it out ;)
