I had been debating whether to read the book or not but after reading the reviews from some of you gals on here, I went ahead and got it from our library. I wasn't sure it would be my cup of tea because I've never gotten into the "vampire" books. Well, my dh brought it home last evening and as of the middle of this morning I was halfway through it. Now I have a problem! I told my dd that she might like it and I lost my book and my dd several hours ago!! Thank goodness I have some other books on hand to read! I was hesitant to read it but figured they were worth a try and I didn't have to finish it if I wasn't comfortable with it. It is totally different then what I expected but in a good way. Thanks to all who recommended it!

LOL Glad you are liking it!

It's funny being in Utah, my SIL asked everybody at Thanksgiving what Twilight was. Kind of funny that she didn't know. Anyways, I liked the books, but DH's fam was all making fun of them saying how they aren't mature and on a very low reading level.

Some of my favorite books are what I call "fluff" reading! My dd finally came out of hiding about an hour ago with a silly grin on her face and said that she had finished it. Now maybe I can! I wouldn't normally let her do that on a "school" day but she's been doing so well with her work that I just let her be. I'm thankful she loves to read!

I love fluff reading too! I think it's so funny how they (DH's fam) think this is immature, but I know they have their own things that are "immature."

    Wow! Finished already!? That's great!

Not too shabby for a 13 yr old! I've always loved books and I'm thankful she is the same way. If I don't have something on hand to read I feel like I'm in withdrawl!

Jennifer, I look for fluff books to read just so I don't have to think too much while reading. I told the lady in our church library that on Wed. night and she said she does the same thing. I wish my girls liked to read for pleasure. I always have loved books but they just aren't that crazy about reading.

I'm also a fluff reader- most of the time! It is nice to give my brain a break from the heavy thinking!

I'm glad your daughter enjoyed the book- hopefully you can finish it now! I was the same way- wasn't sure I would like it as "vampires/horror" are not my thing- I LOVED the whole series.

The author wrote another booked called The Host- it is very science fiction and I didn't think I would like it by reading the synopsis of it but I also loved that one!

I didn't think I would like them either. But I'm hooked. One the 3rd book now! And wanting to see the movie.

My family didn't see me for four days while I read the whole series! My husband told me I was cheating in him with a fictional vampire. LOL! I love a book that pulls you in and doesn't let you go until it's done.

Beth, Joyce was not a big reader until she found the Warrior cat series. After she found something that wasn't so intimidating to start off, she found out it is easy to read a full chapter book.

I should have the book finished by this evening BUT we are 60 something on the waiting list for the next one!

Jennifer- What a long wait. Do any of your friends have the book to borrow?

You can buy the books at Sam's Club for real cheap.
    Twilight was $7.88
    New moon was $7.88
Eclipse was $10.28 ( hardback only)
Breaking Dawn was $12.28 ( hardback only)

I was going to wait for the library ones also until i was ....312 on the wait list!!!! All the books were that way.
So for under $40 I bought all 4 at once and now my girls are reading them too. I figured it was a good investment, they will be well read over here!

I don't mean to hijack, but Beth, have you seen the Thomas Kincade book series called Cape Light? They are so nice! I think there are like 7 or 8 volumes. I'm on volume 6 now.

I just read the first book last week and had hardly finished it when my neighbor came over to borrow it. Need to get it back soon and read it again!
I'm not suppose to know, but did discover that hubby is giving me the second one for Christmas. How am I suppose to wait that long?????

Claras- The way the second one ends, you are going to want to go straight into the 3rd one- at least I did! Could you get yourself on a library list for the 3rd one now so you won't have to wait as long?

Bry's-gal, that's what I was afraid of! Unfortunatly, our library doesn't carry any of the series! At least not that I'm aware of. I'll have to check into interlibrary system.

My dh is still out of work so buying a book right now is not an option. Here's something crazy - we got book 4 the other day! I had put my name on the waiting list for all of the books and that one came in quickly. I'm going to hold on to it for a few days at least and see if the list starts dropping for the 2nd and 3rd.

Jennifer, here's hoping that you won't have to read them out of order.
