No, but we did when we lived in Texas and could pick it for free

We start the weekend after Thanksgiving. The tree is up and decorated, but the outside lights aren't up and the box with the nativity and Christmas village are waiting to be unpacked.

Sweet Potato casserole

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child?
Going caroling with church groups

8.When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
My family didn't do Santa.

The kids do, usually two, one is pajamas one is a toy.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
Colored lights, and a collection of all sorts of decorations, some homemade, the kids each pick out a new ornament each year.

Love it, and it is snowing right now

It's been awhile and I was never very good at it, but I can do it.

As a kid: A stuffed horse with a cowboy teddy bear that rode it, I still have it in my cedar chest though it is pretty ragged.
As an adult: Hubby got me a Kitchen Aid stand mixer a few years ago and I love it.

Being with family

I'm not a huge fan of the traditional one (I don't like meint that well), but I have snuck a couple of the fruity ones off our tree already.

My hubby and kids and whatever family members can be together. This year it will be my parents and hubby's parents and maybe one of his brothers.

Can't remember, maybe 10-11 yrs.old , kids at school told me.

Only 1. Its new pjs for everyone.

With a lot of homemade ornaments, ones my kids pick each year ( the girls get to pick one each ,no matter what it looks like it gets hung up) and beauitful glass oranments.

Can only handle for a day or two.

Yes, we skate inside a local casino year round.

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? When I got my minibike. I kept getting up for water and this and that and dad had to keep pushing it back in the bedroom. He finially gave up and told mom to give it to me.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? With ornaments fam or we have bought or made!! COLORED lights & tinkerbell tops it off & she's on our trees skirt. I also have a couple of homemade tree skirts if we put other trees up. .

11. Snow. Love it or dread it? LOVE to play in it, watch it fall, but HATE to drive in it!!! Just wouldn't be Christmas without snow!!!
12. Can you ice skate? YUP ... Own my own skates since I was little & learned on a pond behind our house with the double blades!!!

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Hmm....Gift wise getting our trampoline. We had it for over 20 yrs (no major accidents) & TONS of FUN!!! A tree finally fell on it & bent the frame. I told my mom it was like losing a part of the family!!! My 35mm camera I got as well another year, my cd player.

14. What is the most important thing about the holidays to you? Being with family & friends that are important. Being grateful for those in my life & the blessings. Watching the lil' ones as the excitement grows & seeing them Christmas morning!!!
15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? Anything I don't have to make. My neighbor use to make this great like "puppy chow" stuff but with white chocolate & Captain Crunch. I like the pretzels dipped in chocolate with candy canes as well.

14. What is the most important thing about the holidays to you? Spending time with my family and friends that are as close as family. Remembering what the Lord has done for us. It is a time of reflections, thanks, love, peace and hope. I like the serenity of Christmas Eve.

Candlelight service on Christmas Eve, then we drive around and look at lights, come home put out cookies and milk for Santa, let the girls each open a gift and tuck them in. Then have a glass of wine by the fire with my hubby

Uh, CHOCOLATE, DUH!


2.Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Wraps them in special Santa Wrapping Paper that NOTHING else gets wrapped in! Unless, like this year, it is a bike. Then it is a big bow.


3. Colored lights on house/tree or white?
White.

4. Do you hang mistletoe?
Nah

5.When do you put your decorations up?
Thanksgiving day after the food settles.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
Sweet Potaoes with brown sugar and marshmallows


7. Favorite holiday memory as a child?
Staying up all night in uncles lazy-boy chair waiting by the fireplace to get a shot of santa, then waking up realizing I had fallen asleep! AARRGGHHH! I was 10.

8.When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I don't remember. It wasn't a sudden revelation or I would have remembered.

ONE

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
Classical, religious.

11. Snow. Love it or dread it?
It snowed here, ONCE on Christmas eve 2004! It was AWESOME!

12. Can you ice skate?
Actually YES. We have an ice rink in Houston.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
YES! I was the first kid on my bloc to get the "Cliffhangers" race track, where the race cars would stay n the track even when the track went up the wall or upside down! It was magical! I was popular, until it broke. ahha

14. What is the most important thing about the holidays to you? When I get a glimpse of the ....
Children discussing the meaning of the season and arguing in their littlle kid ways.

DH's Banana pudding

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Everyone falling asleep n the sofa watching a football game while the kids run wild in the backyard screaming chasing eachother..

Reciving, of course!

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? Putting up the Christmas tree.


8.When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I really don't remember so it wasn't very traumatic.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? We put the tree up and hand out the ornaments and let the boys have at it.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Yes. It was my first two wheeler. Green with the tackiest plastic white basket on front complete with huge purple daises circa 1970.


14. What is the most important thing about the holidays to you? Appreciating Jesus coming to earth to save us.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Candlelight midnight Christmas Eve Service and visiting the World's Largest Living Christmas tree. (4 generation of going to the tree here)
