I really hope that every one enjoys shopping and sending and recieving their ornament, I am sorry that I could not join. DH asked me to lay low on the swaps...... I'm just wrapping up my current SS swap and the Deck the Halls stocking stuffer swap mailing out my 2 packages today. (both from the taste of home).......Its not the buying that kills me but the shipping.
Yeah!! I've found that sometimes UPS/FedEX/DHL are LOTS cheaper than the USPS. I mailed a 13 lb. box to my MIL when she was in rehab, for about $12 from DHL. It would have been about $25 at through USPS for regular First Class (and I needed 2-day). Priority Mail is crazy-expensive now!! I got my ornament and hope to have it in the mail soon!
I'm still poking around about what one I want. I went to the world's largest ornament store last week and I was so overwhelmed, I just couldn't find it. Hoping to be let out this weekend to do stocking stuffer shopping, that I THINK I'll be able to get it and ship it in the same weekend! That would be nice!
Mine is all packed up and ready to go. I have to get DH to print out the label (we have a UPS account). The problem is I have to weight it. At our shop in GA, we have our own scale, we are currently at the golf course, so as soon as i can get it weighed, it will be on it's way. It has a long way to travel so I want to get it out soon.
I got mine today! It arrived in the mail, it was so early! Someone is totally on the ball this holiday season! Is it okay for me to post "who" and "what" ???
I picked up the ornament today and will probably mail it out Monday. That's my first day off from work.
heads up to my person, it will get sent out on the 13th or 15th. We have the Sickies going around and we are in the house until next week.
Woo Hoo!! I got mine today!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love it very much and the kids loved their surprise!! They are working on them right now! I'm not sure if we are supposed to share who and what it is yet so I won't say but you know who you are. Thanks!

I'll take a picture of it on my tree tomorrow. It was from Lornaabc. A beautiful porcelain ornament of two angels and cradled between them is a baby. One angel is larger than the other. Words won't do it justice, I'll take a pic tomorrow and post it. It's simply gorgeous! THANK YOU AGAIN!
Okay, so I went looking for ornament for my person. Am I the only one that thinks most of the ornaments at the mass market stores is just, well, awful??? YUCK. Could not find ONE I found appealing. Well...don't buy something when you can make something yourself. My ornament will take me the week to make, but at least I will like what I'm giving and feel confident that someone else will like too... Off to start working...due to drying time it will take right up to the 13th for it. I WILL send it priority, though so it will get there very shortly after!!!
I like to make my ornaments too. My plan was to have my package out already but I have been at the hospital a lot with my sister and niece. So I will send it out Monday for sure. I have already molded them but I still need to paint them.
I wanted to make them this year but I don't think it will happen this year. I know what I want to get, I just hope I can find it.
