yeah, they woudnt take buy mine cause they were not a 'complete set!" at least I got them out of my house, so I gave them away before coming home!
I only had a box and a half of od and end books so no worries! I know someone will get good use of them!

With Sos I can resell it via Ebay or whatever and it works like new, so the next time I will have a full set haha!
I had stuff I had from my first kid learning, that was a long time ago! Lol!
I had this box sitting there since like January or something I am sure! It went back into the garage a few times over the years as well and I got fed up and gave some away for shipping last summer remember, but there was so much left overs, well I am glad to have my doorway free of the boxed up stuf in a basket! Kids kept tossing each others stuff on the basket and I nearly got rid of some important stuff if I had not searched it first! LOl !
I feel free not having it anymore though! Weee!

We took about five boxes to Half Priced books, once.. We're talking great books and great condition.

They offered us a weird amount of $14.95.
I had just spent the last hour, while they counted it all up, window shopping all the things I wanted to buy with the money I was sure I would at least get....
    Imagine my shock...
    $14.95?
Not only was it low, in my opinion, but gratuitously so... and a werid amount...

Anyway, I dropped what I was going to buy and took my books home and had a fabulous garage sale!
    hahahahaha!

    Never tried that again,
However I DO like the store and do still shop half priced books now and again.
Problem is, our local thrift stores are really competing with them now. Yea for shoppers!

Same way with Once Upon a Child. They give you next to nothing for your used stuff, then mark it way up. Sure, you can buy a pair of nice boys' jeans for about $5, but you know they only paid maybe $2 for it. I'd rather buy it at a garage sale!

But they ARE there to make a profit!!! And why should they pay a decent "used" price, when they know that it will sit on the shelf forever?

Oh, I have no problem whatsoever with them having a profit, of course.. it was just five boxes of books.. a TON of books.. and it was just waaaaaaaaaay underbid.

I just took about 6 books and 10 dvds to half price books and got $36 for them. Sure it's not great, but they were really old dvds that had dust on them from never being watched so I was glad to get rid of them. Got my husband a beard trimmer with the money so it worked out well!

yep, I took in 4 boxes one time to half price and they wanted to give me $9.00 I will never do it again. Like Jen said they give you nothing for them, I found out you get more money and can take them off your taxes if you donate them to Goodwill or something like that, that will give you a piece of paper showing you donate them and then you can put them on your taxes. The same 4 boxes Goodwill wrote I donated, $50.00 dollars worth. So, if you go long form donate them you come farther ahead.
