What are some of the greatest moments in your life for 2008??

    Some of mine are:

    Birth of our son
Paying off about $12,000 in debt
    Keeping our business alive
seeing our kids learn through homeschool
Learning what love really is
Having DH in a wheelchair, sounds weird, but he would always just stay in the car when we went places. This year we went camping, to some races, and he actually went in some stores!!

We've also had sooo many blessings, it's hard to name them all.

Thanks! I saw this on another board that DH visits and thought it was so fun to sit and read through last night. I know we all have many things to be thankful for.

All the time I've had with my kids and husband.
The hundreds of wonderful people we've met along the road.
Taking off on the journey of a lifetime.
KNOWING (beyond a shadow of a doubt)that someone is looking over us!!

This has been a really rough year with many hills but we have survived. The best part though, is pulling my dd out of ps last year at this time and knowing that my dh was finally on board with it. Also knowing that I have tons of support here!

    Best of 2008....
I can't think of any specific moments currently, but I will say the love and support of family and friends has been great this year.

I have been enjoying homeschooling with the kids at home this past year.

We have had some great times in 2008!
I hope 2009 will be a good year too.

I think this is a great thread and it is great to see all the stuff we are thankful for this year. Here's my list:

    Bought a House (Finally)
    In a great neighborhood
And changed my son's sad and angry attitude! (3 different things, one great result!

Dh got a great raise at work
    Paid off my school loan
Paid off the Best Buy credit card
    Got a second car
Got to spend great time with my sisters and mom

Ds12 is finally excelling at math
Dd8 read all of her books for school in the first month of the school year!
Dd6 became an avid reader of chapter books!

I blogged earlier this month at how blessed were are this year - after a few years of pulling up our bootstraps. We have so much to be thankful for this year, and I am praying that I have as much to be thankful for in 2009!

Blessing on all you ladies as well!

-DH, ds, dd and I are in great health
    -Adoption of dd
-Ds getting along better with homeschooling

    Great thread.

2008 was a pretty good year for us

    * we are all (alive), fit, well, healthy and still love each other (important when home schooling...lol)

    * Our business has gone from strength to strength ( which is great considering construction industry was hit very hard over here with world wide downturn)

    * we managed to stay debt free for another year

    * we traveled to Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and India this year ( + hubby +DS enjoyed a trip back to Oz together)

*we moved into another emirate, which although daunting to begin with, we are loving being with the locals ( no expats for miles)

    * I finally swapped my drivers license over- and started driving over here ( a big step for me- its the wrong side of the car, and wrong side of the road for me- and I LOVE it)...I even went to the shops with the kids this week- no extra scratches on my car- or anybody elses...lol

    * My brother + his wife told us Christmas day that Im going to be an Aunty next July!! Woo Hoo.

    * We had a pretty good year of home schooling- plenty of ups and downs ( actually, more ups- as we are home schooling again this year)

    * another year over...and the countdown will begin, as to my ( and childrens) return to Oz.

My babies graduated from Abeka Academy in May. Youngest graduated a year early at the age of 17.

My babies are turning into wonderful and productive young men who are now in the working world.

Thankfully my ds' are still living at home, that is such a blessing!

Both of my kids are working at really good jobs for our local government, oldest is a Maintenance. Tech and youngest is a Title Clerk. They get sick, vacation leave, health insurance, dental insurance and 401K.

Oldest ds was the janitor and he was promoted to Maint. Tech several months ago.

Youngest ds just bought a brand new suv.

Did some improvements to our home, new kitchen and fence, we really needed it. Removed the carpet and put in hardwood floors to help improve my asthma.

Dh and I renewed our vows after being married for 21 years.

Dh has been with his employer for going on 31 years in April.

I have quite a few Yeahs for 2008 but here are my top ones-

Moving into a new house (military housing) and having an awsome neighbor that I and the kids click with.

Getting a good start on DH's and mine retirement fund (one of the good things of a deployment)

Learning that my son's hearing loss wasn't permament and had tubes put in. Not going to have to put him in speech. :)

Learning that my oldest daughter's is just going to need braces and no oral surgury in the area where she had her cleft lip. Hoping to get braces while still at hubby's current duty station.

I loss 30 pounds over the summer and have kept a steady 200 lbs. Would like to loose a bit but am happy with current weight.

Having really good parents even though we get on each's others nerves while living together. They have been really helpful during this deployment I was just a stubborn daughter.

Having my husband advance to Chief Petty Officer after only being in the service for 10 years. We are a navy family and will be for the next 12 years instead of 10.

Having my husband home a few months early! I get to have my husband home for 12 months ! :)
