finding used curriculum this year! :( When I do find something I'm looking for it's either over the list price or so close I'd rather buy it new. I've been searching, eBay, homeschoolclassifieds, and HSLDA's site. Any other great places?

I'm going over to our local homeschool bookstore today to see if I can find anything in the used room there. It's lots of way old stuff, but worth a shot.

vegsource.com has a HUGE list of stuff for sale, and yahoo groups has a couple of homeschool fleamarket type groups that may help. Finally, have you tried Craigslist or Amazon.com?

    Good luck!!

You could always ask here too. We've established in another thread that most of us are hoarders - might actually help us a bit if a fellow Homeschool Spot person was looking for something we had.

I find that I am also not finding as much as in the past. I think part of it is because more people are starting to buy used.

I'll try vegsource. I remember looking there severl years ago and being overwhelmed.

I did have some luck at our HS store here. I went over to look through the used stuff there, but it was mostly old ps curriculum. BUT.... I picked up some of the consumables that I'll need next year, and they price-matched Rainbow Resource for me!!! YAY!!!

It's still early. Yes, I usually start looking around now, but often I don't find what I want until May. I mean, people are still using the books you want.

Yeah, people are still using them. But also - money is so tight for everyone that people might be forced to raise prices on their sales in order to afford next year's new stuff.

I'm just so glad I don't have to make that Foreign Language purchase again. There is no way we could do it this year. (Bright side- at least I can make him do all that science and history curriculum I wrote for the website!!) ;)

No luck at VegSource. Just in case here are the things I'm searching for.

SOTW v. 4 (text and activity book)
    FIAR v. 2 and 3 FOUND!!
    Teaching Textbooks Pre-Algebra FOUND!!
    Apologia General Science
    LLATL- Gray book, Teacher Edition

I can find TT and the science, I just haven't found it in the price range I'm hoping for.

    Hi,
I have the Apologia General Science textbook and Teacher's Guide. I have just been lazy and have been holding on to them, but I have this set for $25 if you would like it. That includes shipping.

Tt might be difficult overall, as it is a newer resource.

Try rainbow resource - while it is not used, they do offer discounted prices.

I might have FIAR v 2 with some books that I would sell- do you want me to check?

Best of luck with your searching!

Clarynda, I've got a contact about a science sale out. I'll contact you if it doesn't work out.
I know TT is newer. I can find it, but am trying to find it a little cheaper than I've found so far. I don't need it until next year, so I can wait a while on it.

I have looked at RR. I typically order anything I can't find used or is consumable from RR. My local HS bookstore matched RR prices for me this year, so I decided to support them!

I am definitely interested in the FIAR. I have a few of the books, but mostly I get them from the library. What are you wanting for it? I need it in the next couple of weeks!
