Just so ya'll know I do NOT want government run healthcare for those reasons! 6 month waits and all...

I was just curious if we qualify.

We have no insurance right now.

Hey Jennifer. . .we're actually in the process of applying right now.

The only way that you can find out if you qualify is to meet someone and fill out the paper work. They don't have the income guidelines etc. up yet.

Also, and I'm sorry if you know this already, even if you don't qualify for free insurance, you probably qualify for insurance. There's various monthly payments based on your income as well.

But the only way to find out if you qualify under the new legislation is to call and talk to someone. (Or at least that's what they told me.) You'd still call your state medicaid office or "counselor" in your area.

Yes, that's how we qualify- income based co-pays and limits.

I used to be resistant to even applying, but we decided that the taxes that WE pay funds for the program. Since our money helps fund it, we have every right to use it- if we qualify. I'd still prefer private insurance and much more freedom in my children's health care, but I'm thankful that they have insurance.
