It is a British curriculum so it follows their standards.

Speaking of school text books I am finding them rather useful at this time for homeschooling.

My mom got a large amount of both used and newer text books from a school that closed down, also she got some from the school some how when they switched text books and was getting rid of their old ones. I have school text books that are both modern and as old as the 1940s and ealier. Also workbooks, maps, worksheets and more. Most all of them are in the grade and age ranges that my kids need. We did not have any money to buy any cirriculum or to even get the ink to print off the free stuff from the internet at the time so those school books are coming in real handy.

And the nice thing about homeschooling is that I can make up our own cirrculum/test/discussions with those books and if I find something in them I dont like in the book such as antiGod teachings I can just skip it or teach it from a Godly perspective on the truth.

And I dont have to follow the schedule of the public school system. I can use them to help my kids learn on their schedules and emotional and mental time frames. So far it is working rather well. So perhaps contacting the schools and letting them know you are interrested in getting some of the text books they want to discard might help.

I know we cold not have gotten the cirriculums for each child. It seems in order to do that a person about has to be rich or something because those cirriculums cost a lot. Also you can find school text books at garage sales sometimes too.

I have used a public school science book as an aid but not as a complete curriculum.
I took info that I thought would be helpful and added it to whatever we were working on.

I found the whole, unused curriculum at Salvation Army. I never used the workbooks or the TE because they were very traditional and we aren't traditional. I just made parts of it work for what we were doing.
