Hey everyone! I'm VERY new to the idea of homeschooling my daughter, she is just now 2 1/2 and we are starting in on some of the preschool activities, etc. I was homeschooled through 5th grade as a child through A Beka Book, so I want to give my daughter at least that much, if not more HSing. One thing that is a little different, and I almost feel a little "outcast" to some degree, is that we are not a religious family, so I am looking for a curriculum (or to piece together a curriculum) that is not Christian based. While I respect Christianity, I want my daughter to have a neutral education about a variety of topics, including religions before (when/if) she chooses to follow one herself. I hope I'm not alone in that (I've felt that way on various boards). Anyway, I'm looking forward to gleaning a wealth of information about HSing!!! TIA!
Welcome! There are many people here who do not use a Christian curriculum. You might want to post your question under homeschooling. You might get a better response there. A lot of times we do not come to the intros very often.
Hi! welcome...I'm new to the idea of homeschooling as well. My kids are 4 and 2. Just curious...how come you didn't homeschool past 5th grade? I would love to hear what you liked or didn't like about homeschooling to get a different perspective because I mostly only hear stories from the parents of homeschoolers and not homeschoolers themselves. We are not a religious family either but in my short time here I have never felt like an outcast.
Hello! My dd is also 2 and we're doing fun pre-schoolish things to give her a good educational start. Welcome to the site!
Just sending out another quick hello and welcome to the crew! There's such a wide variety of curriculum choices out there, that I'm sure you can find something that will work for your family.
Welcome! You have so much time to research, I'm sure you will find something to fit your needs. Best wishes!
