    THank you Junebug!

I think I will go ahead and plan on something else for next year, but at least this way I can print out the rest of the 1st grade book so we can finish what we started.

I guess we sent them too much traffic and their little FTP bells and whistles started going off. hahaha!

It is actually rare that someone forgets what they have online. It was a legitimately free site, open to the public, when it was posted by scott foresman reading program.....

Apparently they were bought out or somehow the company changed policy and they no longer wish to allow free downloads. They would rather direct us to their paid products.

No problem, That is their prerogative. It was nice while it lasted.

Everyone I link to, is simply linking to live products on their owner's site. Nothing is password protected, not do we access anything illegally. (Just in case that issue comes up).

Plus many companies give away free things like worksheets and games to get us interested in their other products. Again, nothing wrong with that. And they, of course are free to change their mind at anytime.

In this situation, we were lucky to have access to the free version of the products.

I think the lesson here is that if a company offers something free, AND you feel it is valuable to you, then download the whole thing. That way, if they change their mind, you have what you needed before they change their mind.

    File Transfer Protocal

Files are uploaded and downloaded via FTP and the "Bells and Whistles" is a figure of speech to the fact that A large number of people were downloading the books and draining their system enough to bring it to their attention.

Which is why they never noticed it before, because there was not the level of downloading going on until I linked it.

Not broken.. just not there anymore.

A web page and it's contents are like a phone answering machine.
When people call on you they get whatever you save on it.
If you delete it, the message is no long accessible.

So the link is no no good, because it now redirects you to their for sale site.

Looks to me like the site is back up and available.

I was sorting through some bookmarks and deleating those that are no longer valid and this one worked again.

    Ok, just WOW!
I have everything except 3 and 4 so I will get those today.

You know, again, this is a good reminder, that if you have a favorite resource. SAVE what you can. Not so much PRINT everything, but try to SAVE what you can, if you can.

I think if you rely on something, you need to know it will be there tomorrow, ya know?

I think we are lucky that they chose to repost it, because it is "Their" product that they are offering fo free, so I am grateful.

Is there a way to save a grade as a whole rather than just a few pages at a time?

The basic program "Cute PDF" is free, but I looked and, no, the part that merges PDF files, is not.. sorry.

However, there are other programs out there, like...

    PDF Hammer
PDFHammer is a web-based application that allows you to merge and rearrange PDF documents online. It’s extremely easy-to-use and runs directly from the browser. Just upload your PDF files and start arranging the pages in any order you want. You can also delete any page you want. Once done, use the “Export Final PDF” button to download ready PDF to your PC.

But I still like Cute PDF writer
CutePDF Writer installs itself as a "printer subsystem". This enables virtually any Windows applications (must be able to print) to create professional quality PDF documents - with just a push of a button!

Basically, say you are in excel and you have a spreadsheet you want to share, but no one else has excell.....

Just click PRINT as you normally would to print the item... but in the pront window CHANGE your printer to "CUTE PDF Writer" and then click print.

A small "Save As" window will pop up after a few second and you save as normal.

This works with ANY program you have in your computer that you can print from !!!!!!!!!!! I can't live without it! hahaha!

Hereis another program that merges pdfs and is free....
