    Hi!

We have 3 dc :) One is 20 in a different state...the next will be leaving the nest in a couple of months.

Our 10yos is in PS but bringing him home very soon! yippee.....

I did Unit Studies (mostly) with our older two~~together, and am wanting info on Unit Studies with one child now.......

Most of my resources were sold and we can not afford an expensive program....

I need *structure* also LOL. Otherwise I am all over the place and not getting any *learning* accomplished.

I want a literature history program that is done chronologically (inexpensive) but since he is 10 he needs United States History as well........not much of it was taught at the schools he has attended. Really! Usually they studied *history* when it involved a holiday such as Martin Luther King day...Presidents Day etc........but learning about Columbus, Leif Ericson, Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson yada yada????? Forget about it! grrrrr.

So, my plan is to study history *in order* and read great books for *enjoyment* on the history of the U.S.

Suggestions for the Unit Study Program please???:)

If I bring him home in the next couple of weeks I do not have any *program* to use:shock:
So if I have not decided by then, what would you do? Read books beginning with Egypt and of course Bible stories??

    All opinions welcome:lol:
Thanks and have a wonderful day!

For history program, Iknow one that is cronological, Story of the World , its pretty cool and perfect for your child's age!
I think you can use it as unit study style but check it out on Cbd.com

I'm gonna second TeacherMom on this one. You can use it as a unit study but you'll probably benefit greatly from the Activity Guide. If you didn't care about doing a unit study approach, you could fly nicely without it.

There are tons of free unit studies all over the internet. By the same token, if you have a functioning library card (mine's overloaded with fees and I can't check anything out), you can check out books at the library that have unit studies in them. Our local library system is very homeschooling friendly and has whole sections in each branch dedicated to homeschooling resources! My only caveat to using the library is that sometimes it takes forever to get the resource and then you only have it for a short while.

    I hope this helps.

I have a 5 part ancient and middle ages unit study series here that covers Egypt through the Renaissance and Reformation.

    Good luck!
