It's not new, it's been around for some time. My husband taught it at a local Christian school while he was in Bible college. It's also the primary curriculum in my town's Christian Academy which has been around for 30 years. It's very much student led and meant to foster independant learning. It's very very Christian... there's no getting away from Bible references, Jesus, etc. That said, I personally find the curriculum kind of boring, and most of the subjects very similar, at least at the lower grades. I can't imagine using it as an entire curriculum, my kids (and I) would be bored to tears. We are using it for Social Studies, though, and I'm very happy with it for the one subject. It complements our eclectic curriculum very well
Ace I have been using this curriculum for 2 years with my son, 9th and 10th grade. I am trying to decide if I should use it with my daughter that I will be homeschooling next year in 4th grade. Its a good curriculum, but I am thinking I would like to try a little different with her. But not sure what to try. Good luck.
I have used it.... not a fan. IMO there are much better programs for a lot less money. To me it seemed like just plugging in the answers, not much critical thinking.
Instead of using a textbook, the child uses 12 mastery based workbooks called PACE. The PACE paper books do not have grade levels printed on the front. If your child is working below grade level, other children will not know it. Ace's diagnostic test pinpoints any gaps in your child's education. If your child has gaps in their education, a PACE covering the skill is provided. You can purchase a PACE one at a time or you can request samples before making a decision. People can only give their opinions based on what worked or didn't work for their child. It may just be the perfect curriculum for your child. Here is an online copy of their catalog. http://www.schooloftomorrow.com/homeschool/LCA/online/PDFs/HSCat_web.pdf
