I finally sat down today to figure out how much longer we need to work to accomplish this year's goals. We'll be working through June 12; maybe a few days earlier if I can get the kids to double-up on a few things occasionally.

Just curious as to when everyone else is taking off? (If you do, that is!)

Whenever we're done! (But we cut way back once Carl is done with school.) Last year, we were doing history most of the summer, because I needed to be at a certain point and we weren't there yet. Plus Rachael wasn't done with Apologia Physical Science, and she needed it done before she could start Biology. So she was finishing that up over the summer, too.

When the kids finish something they are done until August. We have a couple of things that are going to go into the summer, which is okay. I try to have them do some during the summer as well, so their brains don't leak so much info.! :)

We finished our 180 days last Friday!!!!!!

We start in July, take off a week every 9.. with the exception of December.. we take off all of Dec (or are supposed to, this time we didn't because of baby coming in May), and finish the the year in May (this year we finished in April).

Sam has about 5 weeks left of very minimal work. She finished math a month ago and is only finishing up Bible, Science and her history bios.

I think I am actually going to school Grace year round. She doesn't know any different anyway and it will be nothing at all to just do reading or math here or there throughout the summer months. However I think we will wait until August to begin any formal science or history.

I plan on being finished mid-may or sooner. But I am doing K so it's been an easy relaxed year. We'll start back up in August. I will probably do a little this summer to keep it fresh, but then again I may not!!!

We'll stop when the garden starts producing.... take off for me to can and put up all the veggies... and then start back up. Depending on how that goes we may start back up slowly, but I'll probably have them back on a full schedule around the beginning of August. (A full schedule for us is 4 days a week, max, taking off whenever there's something fun to do!)

we will finish by the begining of June, dd is already done with Spanish and has 9 days or so left of Math, and then starting the second math she wanted... maybe....
Ds will be done when the books are done basically, we may run a longer year for him this year.
We had a sick week , between the two of us a while back and that and guests and trips we a couple days behind.

According to our state requirements and the paperwork I send in, we will "officially" be done with school on May 6th....

That being said, we are never "done" with school. HSing is a year 'round, 24/7 thing here. We also use summer to work on any tough areas they may have had in the year.

I thought we would be finished with our required 180days on May 26th, but I had forgotten that we didn't take off the teacher work days the girls had thought they wanted to take off with the public school kids. We counted up last week and we will be done May 22nd. The girls are finished with their Math U See and we are working on Consumer math using a game a lady loaned us. They are anxious to be done for the year. So am I. I need a break.

We finished our science book in March and the math book...well now.
We are doing a survival unit that I am making up...plus math from here and there. It is finally warm and so today, if it isn't too windy we will try to make fire.
We have been using the school schedule for the most part as ds the younger was still at ps. We will continue to work through the summer. (at about 2 days a week) The boys like the idea of having days they can determine.

Our last official day will be the Friday before Memorial Day weekend (when Grandma comes to visit). We'll do some "light" activities during the summer but we'll take a week or two before we do those....wanna enjoy Gma's visit to the max.

I have 4, so the last day...

varies from June 9th-June 12th. We hs year-round and will start back the end of July.

    I have a question......

We have to hs for 180 in our state. Our hs organization ends June 30th and starts back up August 1st. If I hs between those periods, is it okay to count those days toward the next year? I'm sure it is......I'm just checking though.

    Thanks!
    Michelle

It might depend on your state, but I would think you could count them! (Some states have an "official" start/stop date).

we will take a break from the 6th to the 11 because grama is coming and maybe grampa too, for graduation for ds17. he is valedictorian and all that since there are only 2-3 people in his class... it should be interesting!
