I was looking at it based on a previous post by someone - and I wanted to see a schedule page for my curiosity....it uses almost ALL THE SAME books as Ambleside - but has a laid out schedule. At least that's what it looks like to me - but maybe I'm wrong??

My dd did almost all the 4th grade books already last year..... so would she start in 5th??

I'd never looked at it before so I am dying to see more about it.

Is that another site like Ambleside? I don't think I have seen it before.

I love looking at Charlotte Mason/Classical.. but I'm too chicken to go that route. Maybe because I'm afraid I will be bored with it :( I have never been a fan of reading "good" books.

I forgot all about that! During a search once I stumbled across that site. I will have to revisit it.

I LOVE history so this works for me. Even my kids are beginning to like history and good books. You would be surprised of the books you can incorporate in this way. My dd just read Detectivs in Togas. It is a very funny book about kids in ancient Rome who try to solve crimes. She loved it and read it very quickly. They also loved greek myths. Anyway, take a look at some of the booklists, it isn't all Dickens, Bronte, and Hemmingway. Although I love good books....many are boring...LOL...I am more of a fan of the newer authors. Although I think Dickens could get anyone reading.

No, but thanks! I really like how ti was set up and I am going to use its style for my ds next year when I write up his lessons.. since I will only have the one at home I will write up a full set of lesson plan pages for the year sometime this summer. That way if I get the Drama class job I will be able to combine both worlds without a hassel for he or I.
I kind of wish I had not offered that.. lol but OT<

Sorry, I love how this looks, if I had not already had some of next years stuff I would look seriously at getting this set up.. it is almost as much as we used to pay for curric in the old days with three kids though so if you got it all its kind of pricey..
I would look for some of the books on the side and see if you can pick some up at a cut rate.

See you can get the teacher guide and just download it for $58. I am finding a lot of the books at the library and such.

We are reverting back to CM style - even DH asked me why I was trying to fix something that didn't seem broken (my answer was time).... I have the layout already done for Ambleside in homeschool tracker at the moment which is fine, but I had never really looked at this before.

Oh - my ds is a history NUT!! I just got 1776 for him yesterday to listen to.....my friend said he would love it. My dd loves listening to history as well but she's not up for that one yet :)

I used the Living Books Curriculum that went along with the Apologia Astronomy (or some of it). At one time it was a free download from CurrClick. That was my first experience with anything CM/classical, and I really liked it. Maybe I should check more into it.

I think you could find a lot of the books for free (per Ambleside's list) if you check www.gutenberg.org or www.manybooks.net.

I hope this helps. I don't pay for anything I don't absolutely have to.
