Ice cream would bring mine on in a heart beat. I don't do Mc Donalds, fast food has never agreed with me. Also things that are gassy like beans and apples would give me gb issues. But then I would have symptoms even if I didn't eat any offending foods, just would depend. When I was finally blessed with having my gb removed, I did not realize how bad I felt until I finally felt well.
Now I have only had a small attack in the day time once. Usually it is at night. Then I am up all night. I only started to realize other things besides ham and eggs were causing me problems. I have always had a problem with those. I can do apple juice, I have not tried apples yet, it is a no to beans also. Now that I am more aware I try to really watch what I eat. In fear of an attack. One bite of icecream and I am out! It hurts so bad. Now how did you do with sherbet and sorbets?
I could not do sherbets or sorbets either. Did you check to see if your state has a program to help with the hosp bills?
Any kind of fat triggered mine - even yogurt. Also raw veggies, beef, and pork. I ate a lot of steamed veggies and chicken breast. Fruit were ok for me.
Cheese about killed me. (and I love cheese) I had attacks that I also think were related to stress. I cut out fat. (completely...lost 10 lbs and I only weighed 95 at the time) I gradually added some fat back but for a month..NO fat. I did not vomit. I did not get my gb out...I did not get an US...soooo it may have been kidney stones. (which I also had ugh ugh) but I am pretty sure it was GB. Anyway, when I got less stressed and healthier all around, the attacks stopped. My mother found a cleanse with lemon juice and cod liver oil that I was just toooooo chicken to try. eww. But I would have if it had lasted much longer.
My gb was packed full of gallstones according to the radiologist so they did emergency surgery because she said it was going to rupture if I put if off any longer.
The cleanse that I did was with olive oil and lemon juice. I couldn't handle cod. that makes me sick just thinking of it.
Wow, if you can keep it down. LOL Plain and simple, you can't stop the pain of the gallbladder kneading any gallstones trying to enter the tube. (((( ))))
I had my attacks while pg... ended up on a very bland diet so I wouldn't go into labor. They removed it a couple months later. It took me about 2 days from the effects of the anthesia (sp?) & just soreness. I was still a little sore, but back on my feet & in the swing of things. You need to avoid anything greasy or cooked in oil. Anything you think will be hard to digest ie raw veggies. Spices need to be avoided as well. You do need to think about getting it out like someone mentioned!!! Take care of yourself for those kiddos!!!
What does a gall bladder attack feel like? Where does it hurt? I occasionally have what I THINK might be one, but have never had it checked out. Interested in hearing.
Right side upper chest, right below the rib. Also it can wrap around to the middle of your back. The pressure, pain and everything that goes with it is unbearable at times. I wish I could say you get used to it, but no. Also sometimes you might notice swelling in that area. They can last from 1 hr to 9 + hrs. When I first got mine I thought it was horrible gas, with out the releasing of the gas. Just the pressure and pain. I could not sit still, yet it hurt to move. You cannot lay down. Mine are usually at night. Is your pain really bad? Do you have any other symptoms that come with it? Some get chills, sweats, shaking, or vomiting.
I felt mine in my upper stomach through to my back. It basically felt like someone was trying to tear me apart from the inside. I had these on and off for about 5-6 years. When I had one, there was nothing I could find that would take the pain away. Finally a few year ago, one of the gall stones got stuck in my duct that went to my liver. I experience the pain I described above for over 24 hours before I went to the ER. When I got there I was immediately rushed to the back and had many tests. I was close to liver failure and since my liver wasn't working properly, my body was being poisoned with my waste. The put me in that night. I was to have NO food or water from Saturday night through Friday ----NOTHING. My IV gave me fluids and high doses of anibiotics all week. My surgery to take my gall bladder out was on Thursday. My gall bladder was so bad it was desintigrating. I lost over 20 pounds in one week. Don't wait to take care of yourself!!! That was my mistake! What could have been a simple surgery turned something really serious and lifethreating. BTW....when the doctor told me that I would have to be admitted into the hospital, I told him that I had to go home and take care of my children. He told me flat out that if I went home.....I would die. This is not something to play around with! I don't mean to scare you.....just seriously think about getting it taken care of. Michelle
This reminds me of my dear friend. She had stones for years and doctors kept telling her she didn't. One day she collapsed and was taken to the ER. Her gall bladder bursted into small pieces and her stones scattered in her cavity. She had so many stones and a massive infection. She was bleeding internally. She almost died and was hospitalized for a long time.
Had I not had emergency surgery the radiologist said my gallbladder was going to rupture due to being packed full of gallstones.
I have changed my diet, tried to limit the stress and I have not had and attack since the last time I posted!!! I really watch everything I eat and drink! Thank you for asking.
