Okay so we have our little tank set up for our tadpoles. I have one that is swimming around and seems to 'jump' at the top of the water. Is this usual? I have never done the tadpole thing so this is new to us. They are bullfrogs and we do plan on keeping them for as long as possible. I been using distilled water and got rocks and a stick from the pond and some 'pond scum'. They seem to really enjoy their home.
Anyone done the tadpole thing? How long have they lived. DD's friend said her tadpole died right before it turned into a frod. :(

weve done them, ours lived to be frogs, then we let them go, or they would have died. i think it depends on the type of frog or toad, some take a long time to turn, but they were really neat to watch!:)

We did the grow-a-frog tadpoles last year..... still have the frogs. They're really disgusting but the boys love them. I need a bigger tank, I don't think they'd be so gross if the water wasn't so icky.

Last summer the boys had tubs and buckets all over the yard that they kept tadpoles in. I guess they were bullfrogs, don't really know. They only ones I remember dying were in a bucket that my youngest left in the sun so they got to hot. As for as I know the rest grew up and hopped off.
