Missy, I had actually responded to a post from Donna about post cards from Nevada when I found out she was from Ga. I am also in Atlanta, Ga. We live in the Dunwoody area of Metro Atlanta .... where exactly are you located ? We might also be neighbors and don't even know it!!! Johnna
We're in Acworth... just a mile or so from Towne Lake (Woodstock). So, we're not too far from each other!
oh ..well we aren't too far then. I hope you have a good school year. This wiil be my fourth year. My kids are Erica 10, Adam will be 9 Sept. 4th, and Reagan is 13 months. I retired from teaching special education 3 years ago when we moved here from NC and I LOVE homeschooling...... happy school year!!!!! Johnna
Johnna... Funny, I am also a "retired" ps teacher. I taught kindergarten, but I quit about six years ago. This is just our second year of homeschooling. My daughter is in 2nd (7yo) and my son is PreK (3yo). I really enjoy teaching at home too! Hope you all have a great year too! Are you a member of any local hs groups? We are joining GHEIN this week. I know they do field trips, playgroups at parks, classes and such. Hope we like it.
We are members of a hs group CHEER here in Atlanta. We meet once a month and the kids take classes together by grade. They also do field trips and outside activities, play groups and so forth. . You also get links to other schools and etc. that participate with homeschoolers for classes, sports, foreign lang. etc. My kids absolutely love it !!! They also have an email loop that offers great info. from the other homeschoolers as well. I hope you guys enjoy your group.... I found ours to be very resourceful last year and am looking forward to it starting back up again this year. Funny that you also were a ps teacher. I did preschool for a while but found out I preferred middle and high school students. Take care. Johnna
Hi Mom2ampm, I have not been checking in much lately. I just found your post. I am from Plainville in NW GA. It's a little wide spot in the road between Rome and Dalton. Donna-GA
