I need a large map of the US to hang on the wall. We will be reading Paddle to the Sea and following along on the journey using push pins and string. Does anyone know where I can buy one?

i was given mine, but i looked and it was a color print map. i looked it up and it looks like you can order from

    mapagents.com/pages/cleartype.htm

    www.onemapplace.com/amccolorprintworld.html

they can be expensive, but if you order just paper and then put contact paper or laminate it, it should work great!

We purchased ours at Barnes & Noble as a 2 pack - one US map and one world map. We laminated them using contact paper. This has worked really well for us.

Okay so for Paddle to the Sea can I use a globe instead of a world map? I already have a globe.

Dana do you know where i can find a printable map to use with this book? I'd like to maybe get a map for her to color in as we go.

Okay, here is what I decided to do (I just thought about this while driving from Atlanta to PA yesterday, LOL): we are going to take two copies of an atlas, cut out the states, and I'm going to have the kids put them together on the wall. I dunno how much fun that's going to be, but I figure it will help my kids remember where the states are located. I picked up a couple road atlases in the past, so that should be fun. But I can tell I'm going to have to rearrange some furniture...

I never found a printable map. A globe would probably be too small for the rivers - but I guess it depends on your globe!

I know that Beautiful Feet Books has a map set that goes along with all of Hollings books. But I already had the wall maps.

NOW - if you have a north america map - I bet you could then switch to the globe for the final couple of chapters! It would work then!!

You pretty much need to start in Canada and be able to see and find the major rivers and some inlets. At least that's how we did it - by chapter.

You can print maps from here: http://geography.about.com/od/findmaps/u/maps.htm

We bought a world map and a US map at Office.... ummm... either Office Max or Office Depot - now I can't remember which. Sorry! They were fairly inexpensive, though.
