When I was in 3rd grade (and I'm a girl) I really enjoyed the
    -boxcar children
    -james and the giant peach
    -the drinking gourd
    -Freckle Juice
    -Super Fudge
-Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing
    -The Secret Garden
    -Matilda
    -Charlie and The Chocolate Factory
    -The Indian in the Cupboard
-The Little House on the Prairie
    -Stuart Little
    -Charlotte's Web

I hope this helps there are lots of other subject activities that can go with these books as well. Especially boxcar children. I had fun with this one when I was little. If you have room you can have her make a boxcar out of a large box and decorate it or use it as her reading den...lol. Have fun

Do you have a copy of Honey for a Child's Heart? It's a great source for what to read to your kids!!!

    The Little Princess
    Black Beauty
    Wind in the Willows
    The Cabin Faced West
Benjamin West and his Cat Graymalkin

Check out the Sonlight catalog! It always has a great list of books!

Don't forget though to let her pick some of the books. Get a small summary of some books and let her pick. That way she can have some say. It will be a great way for her to see what goes into a lesson plan. GL

I usually look at Sonlight's reading list from their catalog.
