My Samantha is having her 13th bday party - a slumber party with games and all kinds of stuff - tomorrow night. I will have 10 teenagers here. We have a plan for the party but I am worried about my sanity. Seriously. She has some great friends and my neices will be here but still. I am just praying this goes well.

try 25 teenagers ranging from 13-15. boys and girls and had several stay the nite. i didnt get no sleep that nite.so i feel for you. but i just went with with the flow and didnt sweat the small stuff.
I will be praying for a wonderful party. Happy birthday Samantha. A teenager at last! Emily will be 11 on Monday. I am in no hurry for her to be a teenager. Have fun at the party.
Thanks ladies. Reality is setting in this morning that tonight is gonna be a long one. We are about to leave to go shopping for all the food. We are having a make your own pizza buffet. Then we have about 6 or 7 games for them to play out back. After that we will tye dye socks (thanks for that idea Aball!) and then back in for a make your own ice cream sundae buffet and presents. Then Sam wants to draw names and split up into two groups and do dance contests with me and dh as the judge. We have movies too for the end of the night. I really appreciate prayers that the party goes well and they all have a good time. Her actual birthday is next Friday but she will be coming home from camp that day so we will just do a quiet dinner at home then.

Praying all goes well! Sounds like you'll have a blast! You'll be fine! And, since Kris and I are so young, how come we weren't invited? That sounds like a lot of fun! I don't dance, but I'd help eat the pizza!
The party went real well ladies - thanks for the prayers they obviously worked! We had one girl who said she was coming and didn't show up. We had another girl we kind of wished we didnt invite - she was younger than everyone else and her lack of maturity shinned all night. She was only invited because Sam used to dance with her and they got along well then. However, the games were a lot of fun and everyone liked tie dying socks. They danced a LOT. Then they laid down about 1am and watched 13 Going On 30. I think some of them also stayed up to watch Grease and Footloose but everyone was asleep by 4am when I went to check and they were all so good and quiet. Dh got breakfast for everyone the next morning and they were all gone by 10:30. Later that day we had another party with family that was nice and relaxing. Sam got tons of gifts and money! In about an hour we leave for the 3 hour drive to take her to summer camp but when she gets home next week I am going to take her on a mother/daughter shopping day so she can spend those gift cards and money. She wants to buy school clothes. Thanks again for the prayers. If you don't mind saying another one for our travels today I'd appreciate it.
AWWW..I didn't see this before! I am very happy the party was a success. I must say you are an awesome mom for providing such a great party for your girl! Now you are a mom of a teen!!! AWWWW!!!! LOL.
glad all went well, wish I could of came, I would of dance, I am young... Oh tell Sam I hope she has a good time at camp...
Well now she is off at camp. The friend that was supposed to go with her backed out at the last minute so she went alone. This will be her 4th year (and last year as a camper) so she knows a lot of people. Actually the husband and wife that are in charge of it were right there when we walked up and when she saw who we were she screamed "Monkey"!! That is her nickname for Sam. So when I left Sam was sitting there talking with her waiting on others from her cabins to show up. She isn't shy and makes friends really easily so I know she is having a blast. No worries about that. I miss her though. I have to drive back on Friday to get her. Oh yes and she got approval today to apply to be a Levite next year even though she will only be 14 instead of the required age of 15. The owners think she is great and responsible with a big heart for the Lord. She still has to fill out the paperwork, get letters of recommendation and go to training but she is bascially in!
