http://travel.yahoo.com/p-interests...kYXltb2QEc2xrA2Fubm95YXR0ZW5kYW50LTYtMi0wOQ-- This one might make you bring some disinfectant when you visit a hotel. Uggh! Once we found toe nail trimmings, mold and hair in our bed at a hotel. http://www.budgettravel.com/bt-dyn/content/article/2009/01/03/AR2009010301344.html
I would fight with my mother when staying at hotels. She would want us to make the beds...on the day we were LEAVING!!! I kept telling her that it REALLY WAS a waste of time, because the first thing housekeeping would do upon entering the room would be to change the sheets (which hopefully meant un-making the bed we so carefully made up....) Eventually my father DID convince her that I was right!!!
I did housekeeping for almost a year this past year. When I first started there was mold on the shower walls and the curtains hadn't been changed in a long long time (they had mold on them too). The first 3 months I spent scrubbing the walls, moving beds, washing bathroom walls just to get them decent. To say it was nasty in the least is a major understatement. I finally got my rooms up to where it was just maintaining them... They would give me 20 rooms to clean and I was suppose to get them all done by 2 or 3 and then go help the other girls. It was crazy to say the least. I would never stay in a hotel after seeing the short cuts that some employees were making... we had one girl that wouldn't even change the sheets... another one wouldn't clean the bathroom floor... some wouldn't clean the coffee pot... But just for the record: My motto was "when in doubt, change it out!"
