Ok ladies &(gentlemen). Those of you who know me, know I have been in wyo for a long time. My entire life. Well I have been getting some "nudges" so to speak about making a fresh start. So on a whim I just typed in a town in the panhandle of Idaho and low and behold there are so many things about that area that look to meet our needs perfectly. So I am just looking for some input on the job market and economics of the whole region. Everything I have found online looks to be pretty good so far. DH is even into this research. He is in agreement with me that we really could use a new start for many reasons. So, like I said any useful input. I am not worried about a job for me I can transfer very easily, but work for dh is different. He is a carpenter, but everything I am finding seems to indicate that there would be work for him as well. That is our biggest concern is finding work.
I donĀ“t know diddly squat about northern Idaho - but I highly recommend Boise! That way our kids could hang out together a lot!
I live in SE Idaho... Love living in Idaho so I highly recommend it but don't know anything about Northern Idaho. Sorry ;-)
Thanks ladies. So far all the people I have spoken with rave about how great idaho is. So now we are just working out a game plan. Finish our currant house, put it on the market and start looking for a place up there, which we already have done online. There are some amazing ones that meet all of our criteria. The more we discuss this the righter it seems. There have been no hesitations at all from anyone. I am taking that as a good sign.
I lived in Spokane WA for several years, and thats just a hop skip and a jump to the Idaho side, 1) its beautiful (if you you like golf, I will tell you my DH said there is the best place to golf)... 2) there are some great places to hike, or camp 3) I think you will really like it over there, my aunt ran a business up there she did well, but had to move after her son died in a freak accident.
Thanks Amy. We really aren't into golf but the hiking and camping possibilities look fantastic. We don't really want to give up our mountains and all the great outdoor stuff we do here, but the lower elvevation and warmer climate are very promising.
