While have supper at a TacoBell (one of my favorite on the road places) my son blurts out that he can count by tens to hundred and back again. I have been briefly showing him how to count by 2,3 and 4 while my oldest did her multiplication facts to me. We haven't touched school in two weeks like I had planned so this just totally surprised me. My husband was amazed too.
I have posted in the past that this homeschool thing was mostly my idea and hubby was less than thrilled. Seeing his son do this and some other stuff is making him more and more open to homeschooling.
I asked my parents and my oldest if they taught him and they all said no.

That is great news. See, he is learning even when you may not think he is listening. Way to go to your son!

Natural learning. They want to and will do when given the proper encouragement and resources. I love it! You're doing things right!

My dh was never _really_ onboard with the hs'ing he submitted to me because I was so passionate. After spending some extended time with family that chooses ps he has said, "I will never give you grief over that decision again. I'm so thankful for the choice we made". I hope for your sake you get to hear those words as well. Keep it up!
