I know this is dated MARCH...I am so behind the times! I wonder if this will actually come to pass? All I can say is it makes me glad we are homeschooling! It still bums me out though, because I do have that teaching degree and was planning to go back to work someday. Call me lazy, but I think summer is short enough as it is. And I certainly don't want to stay an extra hour in the afternoon either.

What do you think...will this expansion of school hours/day/years actually lead to an improvement in education?

They are doing it because people want free daycare. They also are neutering the parents. The more they take over, the less parents feel like they can raise their children, or even should. I cannot even believe how many public school parents think it is not their place to make decisions in their own childrens lives.

Our education system is teaching our kids to be factory workers. It's broken due to excessive political correctness and ridiculous curriculums. When was the last time a kid was taught how to open a business in school? Or how to manage a retirement account?
