Do you want more of a high schoolish type course with managing your money...or more of a college type macro/micro econ?

The first is a great overview of the subject. It's easier to grasp than Ludwig Von Mises and an easier read, but it doesn't detract any substance.

The second contains a lot of in depth information on subjects of economics and libertarianism. I'm currently in the middle of "Socialism" myself, as it seems pretty applicable to today's economic and political atmosphere.

I agree that Bluestocking press has great material. You can use it for upper elementary all the way through high school. I used 3 of their books for my oldest daughters high school economics. It was perfect for her as she is not interested in the subject - and those books made it interesting and understandable.
My son loves all things to do with business, so he did SOnlight's new Ap Economics course. It was great and he scored 4s on both the Macro and Micro AP Economics exams

Check your local 4-H and see if they've got a project book on this. They are usually reasonably priced (about $5), and really well done. They are open to selling them to non-4-H'ers.

I would also suggest the Bluestocking press materials. We are going to be using that this year with sd. My sister used it with her kids and really liked it.

Thanks, momofafew, for the tip on blue stocking press. I'll check it out. I am looking for an economics curric. for high school.

Jackie, thanks for the "heads up" about 4-H. I would never have thought of that.

Merylvdm, thanks for the Sonlight tip. I'll be checking it out also.

Thanks to everyone for the responses. I appreciate it.

There is a sonlight book....Penny Candy...or something like that...check out the website. I'm not sure if it is what you are looking for but I have heard good things about the book and thought of getting it myself this year. I don't think it is enough for a course, more like a book to read during the course.

Bluestocking has an entire economics course. The student questions, essays, projects... are found in the Economics study guide. It really is comprehensive to what people really need to understand about economics in the real world. If you are looking for a hard core macro/micro economics check out Sonlight. They have an Economics program that looks really indepth.
