mix and match i am a mix and matcher also. i have never purchased a boxed curriculum mainly b/c of the price, but I like to do my own thing. I also do not want religion in every single subject etc. The teacher guides sometimes are just overwhelming. I try to tailor my "eclectic" curriculum to each of my kids own learning style. my dd is content with anything...worksheets, projects, anything. but my DS is more of a hands on kids, not content at all to work in a workbook. amy, GA
My first reason is I don't have much money to spend on school stuff this year. Even comming up with 20$-30$ can be kinda tight for us sometimes. I will have more leeway at tax return time. My second reason is I wanted to pick and choose myself. I don't need all the "junk" that comes in the boxed ones. I just need some paper, crayons, and a book!! Third is it seems that those boxed curriculums seem to be best suited for those kids getting out of public school so they keep a similiar school schedule.
Oh I second that! I could sepnd hours searching for "just the right" thing! It is VERY addictive!
