Em's math lesson for today was to read chapter 6 in Life of Fred and answer the questions. I was correcting her answers and they were all correct. Still, I was confused because her answers didn't seem to go along with chapter 6. After checking over and over it finally hit me, she read chapter 6 but answered the questions for chapter 7. LOL Since she got the chapter 7 questions correct, I told her she can skip it. She likes Life of Fred so much she opted to read 7 anyways and answer the chapter 6 questions. I thought I would share. I thought it was funny.
I honestly do not know who is loving Fred's antics more, Ems or me! LOL When the book first arrived I was up late into the night reading it. I laughed so hard that I woke Handsome up.
I'm not familiar with life of fred, is is like a story book or what? What levels do they have I may have to look into that for my little one if they start that young.
COMIC book!!! No, it's not comic, unless you mean comic as in funny. It's a math series based on the story of Fred, a 5yo genius living on his own and teaching math at Kitten University. He manages to incorporate the math into the story of his life. I love it. Faythe did the first book very well with, but got bogged down in the second, so we switched back to Saxon mid-way.
That is funny how she read the next chapter and then did the earlier chapter questions. She sounds like such a nice girl.
I heard a lot about Life of Fred and it seems to be very effective. They offer books in a lot of different math subjects. http://www.stanleyschmidt.com/FredGauss/11catofbooks.html
