My DH works for an educational company and yesterday he called me from work to tell me that his office was getting rid of everything in the warehouse. THey are going to throw it all in the dumpster on Monday, so I figured that I might as well take a look. I was at swim lessons with the kids but I headed over straight after and I got TONS and I mean TONS of stuff!! I got phonics programs, math programs, reading programs, science kits, spelling books, math manipulatives, grammar books etc! This is the stuff they sell to public schools. Some of the stuff in the warehouse was what I consider dumbed down and not worth my time, but alot of it is AWESOME! Plus most of it is brand new still in the box!

BTW, I have WAY too many things like fake money, counters, and I am still going through the books to see what I have that I really am not going to need. I can't sell it because we aren't allowed to do that but I can give it away so.....If you need something and you can pay for shipping...I am more than happy to send you what you need. I will post later what I have available with ISBN #'s so you can find it online and see if it will work for you.

Also, if you are looking for something particular that is made by McGraw-Hill, Wright group, or SRA....let me know cause I'm going back tonight to pick up a couple of workbooks that were missing from some of the kits and I will see what I can find for you.

How exciting! My brother hooks me up with Scholastic materials occassionally from his warehouse sales. That's just stuff for cheap -- stuff for free is way more thrilling!

That is a great deal for you!

I am always looking at what people have, so please post the ones you have extras of (I have a 4th, 7th and 9th grader). (I could really use a 4th grade and 7th grade math book from M-Hill for extra review!!)

I am also part of a homeschool co-op, and we could always use extra manipulatives (counters, money, etc), so if extra of those, please post! We just started last fall, so the moms have to come up with what we need for each class.

    Thanks, and enjoy!

I'm all about freeschooling! The elementary school on my street threw away the K-3 curriculum for the state. I'm not using it word for word but there are some good ideas in it.

It is taking me all day to go through the amount of stuff I have.

momandteacherX3- I will see what they have for 4th and 7th grade math...Is there a specific book you are looking for, or just a general grade level?

I wil try to post all the stuff later tonight if I can go through it all, otherwise it might have to wait until Sunday because tomorrow is our 10th anniversary and we will be gone for the weekend.

It's a shame they should have donated it instead of thrown it away.

They are under contract to keep it, give it to employees (who can then give it away to anyone they want), or throw it away. I asked the same question about donating it, but they said that would be breaking contract. I want to know who they are breaking contract with...themselves? They are the ones who printed the material. Bureaucracy at work I guess.

WOW! That's a jackpot I'd like to hit.

Please, let us know what you can get rid of, I'd be more than happy to take some of it off your hands!

Can they throw it away - into your trunk, day by day?!!!! Oh - what a waste. I will be in deperate need of 4th grade math and 2nd and 4th grade science....but haven't looked at McGraw-Hill to see titles. Also may need some manipulatives so will be excited to see the list. Publishers should make some sort of donation policy - even bookstores can't donate. ergh (but happy about bonus for you!)

I would love to get my hands on anything from the 6th grade on up ... any and all subjects. If you have any extra that I could take off your hands ;-)
    Thanks

brandyb- I will take a look and see what I can find for math and science for you.

I think I am finally done. Here is what I have. If you want pictures pm me with your email address and I will send them that way.

    1. K-5 "growing with mathmatics" kits. Here is a link that tells a little about the math program. You have to scroll down a little bit to see "growing with mathematics". http://www.ed.gov/offices/OERI/ORAD/KAD/expert_panel/new_mathprogs.html
    2. I have 2 "Number World" level C kits which are equivelent to 1st grade. This program is for kids who are behind in math, so I would really use the kit for K or younger, but it can still work for 1st grade. 1 kit is complete, the other kit might be missing a few maniplatives that don't really effect your ability to use it. Here is a link http://www.sranumberworlds.com/index.html
    3. "Open Court Classics" books. I have 7 of the grade 2 books, 9 grade 3 books and 9 grade 6 books. If you go to Ebay and type in "open court classics" you can see them.

The rest of the stuff is odds and ends, but here is a list of them:
    1. "Summer adventure reading"http://www.mcgraw-hill.com.au/html/9780076042104.html
I don't have the full kit, but I have 9 copies - 3rd grade books along with 1 teachers resource guide and 1 pack of activity cards. Also there are 5 copies- 2nd grade books with 1 assesment guide. Also a grade 1 and grade 5 assesment book...I will be looking for the books when I go back tonight because without the books there is no reason to have the assesments.
    2. "real math" game kits. These are kinda like posters with 1 game on each poster. I have 13 kits with a total of 26 different games. These come with a small package of manipulatives. They help with learning math.
    3. I have 13 bags of foam geometric shapes.
    4. a handful (haven't counted the exact number yet) of bags with counting manipulatives to teach ones, tens, hundreds. This is what they look like:http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7zjiISMc8b8/SkgnTBxY9qI/AAAAAAAABHc/9JaheVQYNG0/s320/Basetenblocks.jpg but I don't have the thousands block.

I have some more odds and ends but I am not sure if you can use it without the rest of the kits or not. I will look into that and if you can use them without everything else I will post it all later.

We are friends with a family that homeschools 5 kids, so I'm sure they could use some of that stuff! I'd LOVE some of the manip.s to teach ones, tens, etc.! Some math would be good too....

How many of each thing do you want? Did you mean you want all the K-5 math kits? I assume you want 1 bag of geometric shapes and 1 set of math manipulatives and i math game kit? Let me know exactly what you want so I can get you a price for shipping.

What grade level would you say these were?
