We are starting school next Monday. I really should be planning out some lessons. I just can't get motivated to start.

I know it's going to take me a few hours to get everything ready to go, I just have so much around the house that needs to be done to.

    I have no motivation.

Somebody tell me to get to work. LOL

I do my best planning late at night.

I did things a little different this year. Even different than I planned to. But...if it helps...

I planned out each subject separately on it's own spreadsheet.

Then, each week I'm going to write the assignments in each child's weekly assignment notebook. I think this will work for my kids and give them some ownership of their schedule.

I'm also the "I have to see it in writing" kinda person.

I need to get Science scheduled out. Science and Writing are on hold this week b/c I don't have my son's WRiting curric yet.

:) GOOD LUCK and GET TO WORK SLACKER! LOL (Did that help???)

Pick something really fun, and then schedule around that. You need to get excited about it, so choose something to do that you normally wouldn't. Just make it a really fun first day of school and things will start to fall into place.
As for the house, just set your timer to do 15 minute clean up, and try to beat the clock! (Obviously this will only work for one room at a time LOL)

Thanks for the tip and ideas!

I did get the first week planned out as far as school work. I still have to pick some fun things and activities to go along with it all.

I'll see how my system works for what I've done so far and go from there.

But, at least I have the important part done. LOL

I am just now planning out things to start with. I still have to get books for the core subjects. Hopefully the sites that you all gave me will fill in until I get on my feet.

I'm in the same boat. I'm preparing so much for my little daughter to go off to public school kindergarten that I haven't prepared anything for my son's homeschooling. I think we are going to have to start homeschooling after Labor Day. I'm letting my son and daughter have play days for the rest of this week (well...maybe I'll do 10 minutes of school work with them each day).
