Is there such a thing as a retired homeschooler?

    Hi, Everyone,

Since my children are grown, I get to look back on the blessings of homeschooling and I can repeat the same phrase that all moms say: kids grow up too soon!

I used an eclectic program of great materials, loved my local library, and even supported a local Christian school because of my husband's job. It was all good---even on the days when I lost a bit of who I was personally.

Just passing on this joy: homeschooling is life-long learning. It is a blessing of time with your kids that you will never regret.

Enjoy the beauty of today! :)

What a wonderful post!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

It gets hard to see the goal some days, and it is good to have that reminder from time to time. Thank you and I hope you continue to share with us!

I guess I'm a retired homeschooler too - although we may yet return to it as our youngest two work their way through school. Mind you, how long will it be before there are grandchildren to help? (Given the career my older daughter has chosen, for example, she might very well appreciate homeschooling help one day.) Maybe you'll find yourself enjoying the experience a second time!

    Hi Judy,

I'm a "retired" homeschooler too. You're so right, homeschooling does stay with you (and your kids) forever. Not only was it the best time of our lives, but we've never stopped learning since. I'm always happy to pass some of that joy on to the next generation of homeschoolers.

    Erna.
