    So ds7yo is playing Paper Mario on the Wii, and says to me "Mom, did you know the guys in this game don't always say correct sentences? Sometimes they don't say a complete thought." and then he proceeded to give examples LOL

    Whoda thunk it -- video game English lessons??? LOL Isn't it great to see that it's really sinking in???

    You're going to have to be careful. If your son retains this love of English, he's going to comment on any split infinitives or trailing prepositions you come out with! :)

    Actually, this is not so far from the truth in our family. I've always made a habit of answering the children's questions literally. "Dad, do you know where mom is?" "Yes." That's usually followed by a groan and then "OK - so where is she?" These days, the older children do the same to me - gaining sweet revenge!
