Hi everyone! My name is Mavzuna. My family and I are new to Dubai and to homeschooling. We have 6 kids, 3 of them are homeschooled, the others are too young still. Hi Mavzuna We're also homeschoolers living in Dubai. Although we only have sons, and the oldest is 6 (so unfortunately there's no friends for your daughter ), I know there are many other homeschoolers here, and you definitely will find friends fo her. There is more than one homeschool group in the UAE, which would be a great place to start, especially since you're new to homeschool. The one group is based in Abu Dhabi (Abu Dhabi Home Schoolers Association), and the other is for the northern emirates, including Dubai (Northern Emirates Homeschooling Association). The Abu Dhabi group also has a branch called In The Shade, which is an e-group. Either group has regular field trips and/or park meetings, where the students of all ages meet and form friendships. Hope you find your feet here (Dubai) quickly, and make use of the cool winter weather to go outside as much as possible, before summer kicks in! Please ask if there's anything else you need to know.
Another UAE homeschooler here ( Im in Sharjah) Welcome to the Spot. ( I missed the thread earlier as we have been away on holidays) We are homeschooling our 12 year old son, 10 yr old daughter, and have another daughter- who is 3. There are quite a few homeschoolers now in the UAE!
