Does anyone have some good links for high school work. I was going to put my ds in isucceed. But it will not work for him. So I need some good links to print some work off for him. I know someone posted a bunch of links on another thread. I did copy them to look at. I know most of what gets talked about is k-8th. High school seems to be a little harder. Thanks in advance. Paula
http://www.currclick.com/index.php?filters=10700_0_0&free=1 These place has different free items. Many other good resources too. I was just talking about the Literatue Helps I found here. Over 200 ideas different than writing a typical book report. The ages for this is 4th-12th. I am liking it very much for two of my children thus far.
What kind of links are you looking for? I found some online textbooks that I am using for DS but I have to make up review questions and tests myself. I don't have enough posts to post links just yet but check out hoagiesgifted dot org, textbookrevolution dot org, and freeuniv dot com. They are all free to use but it will take more work on your part. I have not reviewed all of these sites in depth but I am using a couple of online books that I found through these sites. My DS is only in 8th but his school was ahead. So we are where we are at this point. If you check out the favorite links board...every now and again someone posts some high school links. I bookmark them so I have them in the future. The only subject I am having problems finding free online is Language Arts.
http://www.hoagiesgifted.org/online_hs.htm This site compiled free high school courses online to help Katrina victims. Also MIT OCW high school highlights has courses recommended for high school students. They are college courses from MIT, some are basically a syllabus, others are very complete with videotaped lectures. They are in general pretty rigorous courses. HTH!
I don't have enough posts yet to be allowed to post links - but if computer applications is something you want to add to the curriculum, google 'Jan's Computer 101'. Great courses to teach Excel, POwerpoint etc. Meryl
Thanks. I am just looking for links with free print outs for all subjects. History I will have him look up different things and do a report on it. I think science and English are the 2 I have trouble finding things for him to do. Paula
Sparknotes has notes about various books and they also have questions. Not printouts as such, but I guess you could print them out.
You can find lots of resources on Scribd including newer textbooks. Keep in mind not everything that is posted is legal. No one is tracking who downloads them so it's really a matter of your conscience. The only way to know if it's legal or not is to do your own copyright search. From the time a publisher reports copyright infringements to the time it's removed is usually within 24 hours. I figure if they cared they would monitor the site because it's the world's largest. I personally download whatever I find useful and figure if it's not legal it will get taken down. But, there are also many legal and free resources available too.
