I homeschooled my son when he started 9th grade and he is now in 11th. My daughter is in 4th this year wanted to start homeschooling. We use ACE and she is really going through it quick. She is already on her 4th Pace and there's 12 in each subject. I need some good ideas to make homeschooling fun, as in projects and things. Can anyone give me ideas or websites to make this a fun year and not just get the Paces done and thats it.
    Thanks

When my sons did ACE it seemed like there were suggested Science projects occasionally. They also offer a Literature PACE (I believe it starts in the 4th grade, so perfect for you!)
You could always have her do a book report.
Is she mastering these PACES as she flies through them? Maybe you could have her slow down a bit. (Write spelling words if she's not getting 100's on Self Tests, etc.)
I loved ACE when my boys were little and they kind of went through it fast, but they slowed down when they got to a certain point with the Math especially.
Hope you have a blessed day :)

Is she reading extra library books? My daughter likes the American Girl series. You could have her read a book or two every month or so. We also use some websites to practice spelling and math facts. She is also taking typing online for free. We get our spelling words from the Houghton/Mifflin site www.typeandspell.com - the computer will call out the words on their lists and she can type them in for practice. We used two math sites for practice and they are in game form. One is www.funbrain.com and the other is www.mathplayground.com. The free typing tutor site is www.typingweb.com. You might want to try some art projects like finger painting, paper mache', etc. You could relate your art to what she is studying - i.e. if she is studying Indians, let her make a totem pole for art (out of oatmeal boxes), or if she is studying rain forests, let her make a poster of a rain forest (get magazines from the thrift store cheap to cut out pictures of animals - National Geographic), etc. We also found a great Bible site this year http://children.calvary/chapel.com. They have many bible lessons with coloring sheets, word finds, and crossword puzzels. Hope this helps.

Visit my blog! I do it with my sister and a friend. We post new ideas for fun stuff with kids almost every day. Just click on my name! Kids that age love crafts and science projects and interesting creative writing assignments.

She is doing the Literature and loves it. She is taking all of her self tests with 100% and all tests are 100%. So she is doing great. I just am looking for some creative things to do with her because when she was in ps they did different experiments and just creative things there. I want her to have fun here and learn. Thanks to everyone for the advice, it all helps me alot!

I have a bunch of unit study ideas and the like on my blog too if you want to check it out. I also recommend the use of things like lap book/notebooking or History pockets books to add some fun, hands on stuff! Good luck!

I am working on a series of lenses on Squidoo to give ideas on how to make each subject fun as I am a big believer in that kids retain more if they are enjoying themselves. My signature has the one I wrote on Geography ... I have one on Economics up but it is still a work-in-progress. Also, my blog merylvdm.wordpress.com explains a fun online game my kids are all loving (my youngest is 4th grade)
