Friend of mine got one last night late...with her car !!! I asked her if she got to keep the meat. She said a friend who hunted was going to see if it was still good.

I think you could cut your steaks into strips and put them in a dehydrator to make jerky. We make a lot of homemade jerky and our family loves it! :)

I have one, but you need something special for it to do jerky. I do mostly apples with it.

lol. With Soph starting pre-k while I'm college I'm really wanting to do jerky and fruit leather. She really doesn't eat meat except for jerky....lol.

we use it just like we do for beef, just make sure we cover it or add a little butter or evo. so we use it for burger, steaks, chops, roasts, in which i make deer stew, roast, fried deer fingers, deer fingers in butter, garlic, and covered , deer soaked in italian dressing over night and then cooked, deer wrapped in bacon on the grill, well pretty much anything you can do with beef, i have enjoyed reading the recipes. my dh also adds jerky seasoning and puts in dehydrator for jerky, very yummy! brooke, where in IL are you? we are in west central IL. my dh went hunting today, but didnt get one. hopefully next week!

We are in the same area you are!!! Dh went yesterday as well and saw 5...none of which were able to be taken with his bow. :( Not to worry, though. We still have some in the freezer....after giving lots away....since my dad, dh and ds all hunt and we split it all.

I'm always hesitant to give exact location on an open forum....I'll send you a note. :)
