Wow! They have sure advanced in size lol!

8th grade math-probabilty questions for 26 letters and 10 numbers, two letters are typed. They come up with a 324 bottom number in the fration/ or ratio.

How do I figure this? His work is not helping me because they gave him an example of small numbers and the answer to this one is way huge!
I need help with this because I am dealing with his Thursday attitude, ( we are both worn out by Thursday) we have Science Co op tomorrow, and have stuff to do for this, have been up late for two nights in a row and should be at LIfe Group and Youth group tonight too.. I may skip because my brain is feeling tight today.. usually a sign I am getting a headache lol.
So.... (Ds18 says I say that word too much but oh well haha)
Someone have a link to a video /Utube, or simple solutions to doing Probability that ends in a larger number?
    Thanks!

Not sure I understand what you are asking. Can you type out the question verbatim? Sorry. Thursdays are my worst day, LOL, my brain is fried. I won't be back in until 9, at which point someone will probably have helped, but if they haven't, I'll respond at that point.

"Jim has a special keyboard with the aplpabet and ten numbers. Jim is blindfolded and doe snot know the position of the keys. Determine the probablility requested if two keys are pressed. Reduce fractions.

    P(of typing a number first and a letter second) = ( thier answer 65/324)

How did they get this? from 36 possible keys... two strokes, ten numbers who would be canceled out I had 0/10 x2/26 I was wrong.

That can't be the complete answer or there is an error. Are you sure you didn't miss a word or two in the question? I've seen this question before and it's something like, "Determine the probablility if two keys are pressed and a number is pressed first and a letter second."

In this example the chance of pressing a number first is 10/36. The chance of hitting a letter is 26/36. The answer becomes 10/36 * 26/36 = 260/1296 or 65/324

okay waky you helped us today in math, but... we used your pattern to figure one set out, this did not work with the other set and my ds is stressing because he actually has to think. He is so used to it coming easily.
I was as frustrated as him when my answers were correct in the first place but I changed them because he said I did it wrong, lol. I know he had to do more work and it was frustrating to him.
I want to know any tricks there are to teaching this because I need to be able to teach it aparenly my working it out is not helping him...it is Friday and we are all worn out here and I am glad its friday.
