I just finished there report cards for this quarter. I did not give them any last year, but I wanted them to see how well or what areas need more practice with. So here is how they did: 7th grader: math 87 english 80 spelling 91 lit. 98 science 80 history 90 bible 94 3rd grader: mathe 91 english 87 spelling 93 history 96 science 93 bible95 reading com. 98 this shows me that my 7th grader needs to take time a study alittle more, (which I have been telling her, now maybe she will see it) and my 3rd grader needs to pay more attention to her work in english, (which I have been saying also) I hope they see and make changes so next quarter they bring up the grades in some.
What curriculum do you use? I havent started homeschooling my boys yet, but plan on using A beka when I do. Right now I am doing alot of research.:angel:
That's a great idea! I think I might have to do that! We are starting young at K (so right out of the gate!) but I think it could help DD in the long run to "see" what she is good at and to have a record for her portfolio!
my kids started asking for grades that is when I started grading, I am glad to see your kids are doing great! Keep up the good work
Looks like they are doing pretty good. I am doing CLP also with a 3rd grader. Do you weigh your grades? or do you count everything the same?
I am lazy so i just count every thing the same, and I don't grade everything! just what I think is important.
