The fine arts academy that my children attend has been cancelled this week because 7 of the teachers/helpers are out with a diagnoses H1N1. Most of these families have several children, all of whom are ill. It's hard enough to be sick or have a sick child but to have to care for everyone else when you're sick too is really difficult. On top of that, our city is officially out of children's Tamiflu and there is only one pharmacy in town that is doing a suspension to substitute (where they grind the adult capsules into powder and add it to liquid). And the suspensions are rarely covered by insurance.
Gracious! Hope things have settled down over the past few days! My dd's ballet academy has H1N1 and strep going around and around. I can empathize! In fact, dd and I are still getting over strep/bronchitis/ear infections. Her's started nearly 2 weeks ago and I came down w/ it a week ago tomorrow. I was in such a bad way, they swabbed me for H1N1, almost certain I had it!! But PTL (!) I was negative for any type flu and just have all the other listed above PLUS a severe sinus infection (not to mention some Q-tip pokes to my frontal lobe *lol* I mean, just how far UP do they NEED to stick those things??? Ha ha!). But I'm grateful it's not the flu!!
